Strictly Come Dancing’s Dianne Buswell and Joe Sugg have revealed that they have already picked out a ‘unique’ name for their unborn baby.

The couple announced earlier this year that they were expecting their first child together before the new BBC dance competition got underway, which made Dianne the first pregnant dancer on the show.

Last week, she and partner Stefan Dennis were forced to forced to withdraw from the competition after the Neighbours star tore his calf muscle.

Now, however, after sharing an update about their lives on their YouTube channel, Dianne, 36, and Joe, 34, who met on Strictly back in 2018, have shared that they have already picked out a name for their baby.

In a video from this week, Joe can be heard saying: ‘The name that we’ve come up with, we’re not going to share it. We can’t really give any clues to it other than I don’t really see this name really anywhere.

‘I know some people who have it as their surname but it’s also the sort of name that can be shortened. I’d say it’s quite a unique name.’

Before he could continue, Dianne added: ‘It’s kind of like Joe, isn’t it? Cute when you’re little, you can call yourself Joseph when you’re older.’

Joe continued: ‘Or it could be a good sportsperson name. I’ve purposefully not said it out lout at all whereas Diane keeps calling him by that name.

‘I do feel like between now and our due date, which is another thing I don’t think we’re going to share, I worry that we might end up revealing it by accident. From now on, he’s called Derek.’

Elsewhere in their video, Dianne went on to say that when she told her parents the news it was ‘the most nervous I’d ever been’.

‘I was so nervous to tell people, I don’t know why. I almost put it off,’ she explained.’

Following her partner Stefan’s exit from Strictly, Dianne was forced to address ‘conspiracy theories’ surrounding their withdrawal.

The 36-year-old hit back at claims the move was a coordinated one, given the dancer is currently pregnant.

Taking to her Instagram Story, Buswell shared a screenshot of a fan’s comment hypothesising as much, replying with a strong statement.

The fan comment in question read: ‘To be honest I saw this coming, Diane couldn’t really continue especially when she gets bigger, bless her. She’s a brilliant dancer and she is one of my favourites sorry to say but I think this was planned to keep her and baby safe, just my thought.’

Sharing the comment, Buswell replied: ‘I sound like a broken record but I’m seeing a bit of this floating around again! I know people say ignore it but actually why should I?

‘I will speak up… I would love nothing more than to keep dancing this week next week the week after that so on and so forth. In fact I have more energy this year than I did this time last year.’

She then added: ‘Please respect Stefan who is extremely gutted to not be able to dance and stop presuming this was a set up! Because believe me we would if we could!’
