Strictly Come Dancing star Ross King’s new girlfriend made an appearance on last night’s show, having travelled 5,000 miles to watch him compete.

The TV showbiz correspondent, 63, made his BBC dancing debut on Saturday night’s Strictly, performing the cha-cha-cha with pro partner Jowita Przystał to Katy Perry’s 2010 hit California Gurls, and his new partner Bridget had a front row seat to the action.

After bagging 10 out of 40 points for his spirited efforts, Ross shouted out Bridget for making the journey to see him.

‘It’s so lovely that my girlfriend Bridget flew over 5,000 miles to come watch,’ Ross said before hinting he might not last long in the competition.

‘I said to her, “You have to come because there might not be many of these”,’ he joked, before the camera panned to Bridget, who smiled up at him from the audience, wearing a black dress and simple necklace.

Who is Ross King’s new girlfriend?

It’s the first fans had heard of Bridget, and not much else is known about her at this stage.

The Lorraine star – who made his big break into TV when he became GMTV’s Hollywood reporter in 2000 – was previously married twice.

Ross King’s two ex-wives

In 1999 he tied the knot with Chicago, The Producers and Controlled Chaos actress Charley Way, before their 2006 split.

However, they seem to be on good terms, as at a 2023 reunion at Bafta Annual Burns Bash, they posed for a photo together at the event.

The Scot then married actress and producer Brianna Deutsch in 2015, with famous faces including Patsy Palmer, Gerard Butler, Vinnie Jones, Gary Barlow and Jackie Collins attending the nuptials.

However, after seven years of marriage in 2022 the pair split.

A source told The Sun at the time: ‘The pair have remained amicable and still run in the same circles, they just realised they weren’t on the same page romantically any more.

‘Ross loves living in Hollywood and has been throwing himself into work and writing novels.’

As well as his reporting on ITV from LA, where he’s lived for 25 years, Ross has starred in a number of films including The Day After Tomorrow, Half Past Dead, Cruel Game, Trust Me, and young Hercules.

Talking recently on a podcast, Ross reflected on his home country of Scotland, and hinted he would be open to moving back someday.

On How To Be 60 with Kaye Adams, as per Glasgow Live Ross said: ‘I come back now and then I go to Glasgow, which will always be proper home and real home. It’s great.’

Recalling a recent trip back home, Ross admitted: ‘We went up to the Highlands and I got embarrassed because I thought I had failed to embrace and realise just how beautiful it was.’

This comes after Ross appeared to again hint at a short-lived Strictly stint while chatting to Ranvir Singh about his chances of making it far in the BBC show.

‘I am delighted to say Mr Michael “West End” Harrison has invited me to tread the boards. I will be in Cinderella the pantomime and returning as Buttons at the wonderful Cliff’s Pavilion in Southend,’ he said.

Ross will be starring alongside Rylan Clark in the pantomime self-described as ‘the most magical panto of them all’ between December 13, 2025 and January 4, 2026.

Eagle-eyed Strictly fans noticed the issue Ross might face if he ends up impressing judges Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, and Craig Revel Horwood.

The grand final for Strictly Come Dancing 2025 is currently penciled in for December 20, which is a whole week after Ross’ production of Cinderella gets under way.

Ranvir brought the issue to Ross’ attention: ‘I love panto, but how are you going to fit it around Strictly? That’s my question. [Are you] going to be there for any rehearsals?’

Ross laughed and then joked, ‘I am just going to turn up on the night aren’t I?’ but remained determined to give it his best: ‘Bring it on. You never know until you give it a go.’
