‘Absolutely superb political thriller. Honestly, the best ITV drama I’ve seen. The writing and direction are a different class to most TV thrillers as is the exceptional central performance from Helen McCrory…’ Google reviews user Patrick Edwards wrote.

‘A thrilling series which I binge-watched in one day. Would highly recommend for anyone into this genre… this series like this will stand the test of time.’
‘Excellent, gripping! Enjoyed every minute. I watched the first four episodes in a row,’ John Antoniou echoed.
It’s a sentiment echoed by critics as well.
‘A hook of a central case, tantalising layers and complexities, international intrigue and codenames… put that all together with a performer as strong as McCrory and it adds up to thrilling TV,’ Den of Geek wrote.
‘It is all fabulously confident and classy stuff,’ The Guardian shared.
‘What I love about Fearless is its messiness: Emma’s frantic and complicated life, and her relish for every single one of its constituent parts, feel so wonderfully replete,’ The New Statesman added.
Three British thrillers to watch next on Netflix
After you’ve finished Fearless, why not give these a try…
The Gathering:’A violent attack on a teenager at an illegal beach rave sends shockwaves of suspicion through a Merseyside community. As secrets and lies are laid bare, will the truth emerge?’
The Killing Kind: ‘Haunted by her former client’s obsession, Ingrid reluctantly turns to him for help when her mentor dies under suspicious circumstances.’
Loch Ness: ‘DCI Lauren Quigley tackles a disturbing double homicide in the hills of the Scottish Highlands as she searches for a serial killers in the quiet community’.

Although it wasn’t unilateral praise, with Radio Times warning of a ‘stuttering start’ and iNews warning that it ‘doesn’t quite pull off its uncompromising billing.’
Reflecting on what the show can teach us about society, McCrory told The Independent in 2017: ‘Of course, there are extraordinary people like the human rights lawyers Gareth Peirce and Michael Mansfield.
‘Many investigative journalists do something similar to counterbalance the establishment.
‘But even if we’re not that extraordinary, I think people do that in their daily lives. People are fearless. They do things for others. They walk into overcrowded inner city classrooms where some children have behavioural problems every morning and just keep going.’
Fearless is streaming on Netflix now.
