Beloved ‘Superman’ star Henry Cavill is recovering. As per reports, Cavill was injured while preparing for the new “Highlander” movie, which has delayed the start of production. The 42-year-old actor was training for the physically demanding role when he sustained an undisclosed injury, according to Deadline. Filming is now expected to begin in early 2026. Details about Cavillâs condition have not been shared yet.
A New Take on the Cult Classic

“Highlander” is a new take on the 1986 fantasy-adventure about an immortal Scottish swordsman locked in battle with a rival warrior. The original, starring Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery, went on to spawn multiple sequels and a six-season TV series.
Cavill is set to lead the reboot, directed by “John Wick” filmmaker Chad Stahelski. The ensemble cast features Russell Crowe, Dave Bautista, Marisa Abela, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, and Max Zhang.
Cavillâs Excitement for the Role

At CinemaCon in 2024, Cavill teased the project, saying he and the creative team were âgoing deep into these characters.â As per Deadline, He added, âIf you thought youâd seen me do sword work before, you havenât seen anything yet.â
The film is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios, with a script written by Michael Finch, another “John Wick” collaborator.
Cavill Opens Up About Fatherhood & Family Life

The “Man of Steel” star revealed in a recent interview with British GQ that the baby he and girlfriend Natalie Viscuso welcomed earlier this year is a girl. The actor offered a rare glimpse into their family life while reflecting on the moments that mean the most to them.
Asked about the “most important time” in his life so far, Cavill replied, “My daughter being born, and the 5 of us [partner Natalie, daughter, Cavill, and their two dogs] settling into our forever home.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Cavill shared how he likes to disconnect, balancing video games and outdoor adventures.
“Iâm a big fan of computer games which can be both a disconnect and a wonderful way to dive into storytelling,” he said. “Conversely, I also love to spend time outdoors soaking in the wonders of the world. Where I live has a magic to it that is difficult to describe.”
Cavill added that he feels most grounded when heâs at home in the U.K. “Iâve found a very special place that speaks to my soul in so many ways,” he explained.
