Britain’s Got Talent icon Susan Boyle has shocked fans with a major announcement, declaring: ‘I’m back!’

The Scottish singer, who shot to fame on the ITV talent competition in 2009, celebrated her 64th birthday with some exciting news, teasing her return to the spotlight.

Susan has largely remained away from the public eye in recent years after suffering from a stroke in 2022.

Upon her return to Britain’s Got Talent for a special performance the following year, Susan said: ‘I fought to be back on stage and I have done it.’

And she’s now gone even further with some exciting news, telling her fans: ‘Today’s a special day — it’s my birthday! But I’ve got something exciting to share… I’m back and working on some wonderful new projects that I can’t wait for you to hear about!’

In a post on Facebook, she went on: ‘More news will be coming very soon, but I just wanted to say how much I’ve missed you all.

‘Your support means the world to me and I’m more determined and excited than ever. Love, Susan x.’

She also posted a video where she debuted her glamorous new look, dressed up in a bright pink suit and sparkling heels.

She has even been invited to sing on the queen of US daytime TV's programme, The Oprah Winfrey Show.

The vocal powerhouse was inundated with support, with fan Lee writing: ‘Happy Birthday, Susan. We watched you on BGT when you made Simon eat his words, (I loved it!!) and traveled to another state to see you on stage. And, we listen to your CD’s. You are a treasure!!May God continue to bless your journey.’

Bobbie said: ‘Happiest of Birthdays Ms. Boyle. I cannot wait to hear new music from you. You have such a beautiful voice Enjoy your day sweet lady.’

‘Happy Birthday, Susan! I hope you are surrounded by wonderful friends who are celebrating the special person you are. I’m very excited for your new projects – you are a bright light in a darkened world,’ Katie wrote.

Susan went down in history back in 2009 when she auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent, leaving judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan stunned with her incredible voice.

After coming runner-up to Diversity in the competition and gaining huge worldwide fame, with the best-selling debut album of all time in 2009, went on to release a number of singles and eight records, and earned herself two Grammy nominations and celebrated over a decade in showbiz with a commemorative album and tour.

When she returned to the final of the ITV competition in 2023, singing a duet with X Factor alum Lucie Jones for I Dreamed A Dream, the well-loved tune she sang for her own memorable audition, she spoke about how important her return was after her private health battle.

She told hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly: ‘It feels great (to be here).’

She continued: ‘It’s extra special for me, last April I suffered a minor stroke and I fought to be back on stage and I have done it.’

After the roaring applause from the crowd, Simon also praised Susan, saying: ‘We owe you so much.’

‘I knew you weren’t well but if anyone was going to come back, you were going to come back,’ he went on.

‘It wouldn’t be the same without you.’
