Sydney Sweeney has been making her mark on the red carpet by wearing stylish ensembles like her unique sheer dress. However, she’s now wowed fans by showing up and showing off her hair transformation. Instead of the long strands she’s been slaying, she appeared at the “Christy” premiere during 2025 AFI FEST at TCL Chinese Theater on October 25, with a blonde bob that was slightly longer than chin-length.

“Sydney was looking for a change and wanted to have a big hair moment for the red carpet to support her new movie, Christy,” Jacob told Vogue. “It felt like the perfect time to do something bold.”

Sydney herself transformed herself for this role, and I wanted to morph her into this updated version of herself in real life. Something new and fresh to close out the rest of the year.”
Sydney Has Had Long Hair for ‘Most’ of Her Life

“Iâve had long hair most of my life, and I recently did a trim to cut off all the dead ends,” she said. “Iâm on a hair care journey right now, and I feel like Iâm the most me when itâs just naturally air-dried and not fried with heat. Iâve been learning a lot about my hair.”
“My hairstylist, Glen Oropeza, has helped me a lot with this journey of mine,” she continued. “Heâs been integrating hair treatments into my routine before red carpets or interviews. The biggest change for me has been treating the hair before using tools because before, I would just go in and not really protect my hair like I should have been.”
Sydney Cried the First Time She Dyed Her Hair Blonde

âThe first time I dyed my hair blonde, I cried my eyes out because my hair naturally was [long. When] I dyed my hair blonde, I didn’t even cut it but it went up to my shoulders,â Sydney told Bustle. âIt’s so weird; my nails grow super fast, but my hair doesnât. It’s been a battle of trying to get my hair to be healthy. I’ve been working on it [and] it’s getting better.â
