Sydney Sweeney Spotted with Glen Powell in Wake of Her Wedding Cancellation

Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell have reignited speculation about their relationship after being spotted together in Dallas over the weekend. 

This sighting comes just days after reports surfaced that Sweeney, 27, called off her wedding to longtime fiancé Jonathan Davino, 41, fueling curiosity about the nature of her bond with the 36-year-old Powell. While the two have long maintained they’re just friends, their reunion has fans and insiders buzzing about what’s really going on.

A Weekend Wedding Reunion Sparks Questions

During the final weekend of March, Sweeney and Powell were photographed dining at Joe Leo Fine Tex Mex — an outing that coincided with Powell’s sister Leslie’s wedding festivities. 

Photos obtained by Instagram gossip account Deuxmoi captured the “Anyone But You” co-stars enjoying a meal with friends at the Dallas restaurant, with additional reports suggesting Sweeney attended Leslie Powell’s wedding brunch. However, according to reports, the “Top Gun: Maverick” star was absent from that event. Sources close to the pair insist there’s no romance brewing. 

“There is nothing going on romantically between Glen and Sydney. They are just friends,” an insider told Us Weekly. 

In the photos, Sweeney was dressed in a long black top with blonde hair styled in waves. Powell appeared relaxed and in good spirits while sporting a casual polo shirt and sipping cocktails. 

Another source told TMZ that Sweeney RSVP’d to the wedding months ago with her best friend, not the “Twisters” star. Sweeney apparently has a longstanding friendship with the Powell family, particularly with Leslie, who worked on “Anyone But You.”

Sidney Sweeney’s Wedding Plans Derailed

The timing of this outing couldn’t be more eyebrow-raising, though. Just days before, the news broke that Sweeney and Davino (a film producer she’s been linked to since 2018) called off their planned spring wedding due to “major issues” in their relationship.

“Sydney and Jonathan have been having major issues but are not fully split,” an insider dished to US Weekly. “Things are not great right now, but they aren’t throwing in the towel yet. They are working on their relationship but have called off the wedding for now.” 

The source pointed to Sweeney’s demanding career, noting that the “Euphoria” star “couldn’t handle the stress” of wedding planning alongside her packed schedule. Another insider told People that their relationship had been rocky “for a long time.”

Sweeney’s Instagram activity seems to support this claim. She recently deleted a photo of her and Davino kissing and has been posting without her engagement ring.

Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney Have a History of Rumors and Denials

This isn’t the first time Sweeney and Powell have faced romance rumors. Their on-screen chemistry during the 2023 filming of “Anyone But You ” sparked widespread speculation. Then, cozy behind-the-scenes photos added fuel to the fire. 

At the time, Powell was dating model Gigi Paris (they later split), while Sweeney was engaged to Davino, who co-produced the rom-com. Powell did admit in December 2023 that he leaned into the rumors for publicity, explaining that “Sydney and I do have authentic chemistry.” However, Sweeney was feeling the heat and firmly denied any affair.

Reps for both actors have remained silent on the Dallas outing and Sweeney’s personal life, leaving fans to speculate.
