Shocked audience members screamed, and parents rushed to cover their children’s eyes as the accident unfolded. Local police later confirmed that Marina was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shocked Audience & Emergency Response

The accident happened around 5:45 p.m. local time, according to Bild. A crisis response team was quickly called in to comfort both audience members and circus staff shaken by what they had witnessed.

“The crisis response team was immediately deployed to assist both spectators and circus staff,” police spokesperson Stefan Heiduck told the Majorca Daily Bulletin. Families were escorted from the tent and later given access to support helplines.

Authorities said they are treating the tragedy as a workplace accident. “There is no evidence of third-party fault, and it is unlikely there will be, as acrobats are usually responsible for setting up their own equipment,” officials explained.

A Rising Star in the Circus World

Marina began her circus career in 2018 after years of training as a gymnast. She went on to perform across Europe, dazzling audiences in Germany, Spain, Andorra, and Poland. On Instagram, she often shared glimpses of her skills, from striking trapeze poses midair to balancing while juggling on a tightrope.

As per a report in the Independent, Ralf Huppertz, CEO of the Association of German Circus Companies (VdCU), remembered her as a “well-trained artist” and said the circumstances of her death were “unusual.”

Police spokesperson Stefan Heiduck confirmed that Marina was not using a safety rope at the time of the accident. “She doesn’t have to. She decides for herself whether to use a safety rope. No one else was in the ring during the accident,” he told Bild.

Circus Cancels Tour & Tributes Pour In

People reported that a sign outside Circus Paul Busch on Sunday stated that the show was canceled “due to a bereavement.” In a statement, the circus added, “Please understand that our management is currently very busy dealing with this terrible event. We have canceled this year’s tour due to this incident and need time to recover.”

Bautzen mayor Karsten Vogt also shared his condolences. “On behalf of the city, I extend my deepest sympathies to her family and loved ones. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragic accident,” he told the Majorca Daily Bulletin.

Fans flooded Marina’s last Instagram post with heartfelt condolences. One comment read: “🤍 I’m sorry. Rest in peace.”

Another one read: “She had so beautiful eyes and a perfect body ! ! Sad.. ❤️”

As tributes pour in, Marina is being remembered not only as a gifted artist but also as a performer whose passion and fearless spirit touched audiences across Europe.
