Tara Reid Gives New Details on Scary Incident: ‘Before I Knew It I Was in the Hospital’

Fans have expressed concern for Tara Reid after learning she was hospitalized in Chicago. The actress was transported from her hotel to the hospital on a stretcher after her drink was spiked on Sunday, November 23, TMZ reports. 

Reid has little recollection of what happened to her that terrifying night. Still, she is bravely opening up about the experience and setting the record straight on the fact that she was drugged and did not drink too much, as some fans have incorrectly assumed because of her past substance abuse problems. 

Tara Reid Discusses Scary Hotel Incident 

Reid spoke to TMZ on Monday, November 24, telling the outlet what she remembers about the night. She checked into her hotel on Saturday, November 22, and went downstairs to the hotel bar around 10:30 p.m. There she ordered a glass of wine, and she had it “at the bar,” she told TMZ. Reid claims she only had one glass. Before she could finish her drink, she went outside to smoke a cigarette, and she recalled seeing YouTubers filming in the lobby.

When she returned from her smoke, she noticed there was something off about her drink. “My drink was covered with a napkin, and I thought that was weird. I didn’t put that over my drink,” Reid told TMZ. She drank the drink, and video footage obtained of Reid shows her unable to stand and being helped into a wheelchair around 12:30 a.m. She was transported to the hospital around 30 minutes later, TMZ reports. 

“Without even finishing my drink, I passed out,” Reid shared. “Before I knew it, I was in the hospital.” She also claimed the whole ordeal was “really scary, not just for girls but for guys … for anyone. You have to really be careful with your drink.”

Reid says the hospital staff informed her that she had been “drugged,” but the explanation she received about what happened to her was “vague.” She does not have the information about whether she was tested for specific substances. However, she is considering filing a police report, TMZ reports. 

Footage of Reid giving her interview was shared on TMZ’s Instagram account. The comment section has been flooded with reactions, and although some people have been skeptical of Reid’s story, others have shown their support, validating how scary her ordeal must have been. Fans are also eager for authorities to access the hotel’s cameras, as they believe this will help determine what happened and catch the perpetrator.
