Taylor Swift’s Ex-Boyfriend Has ‘Moved On’ From the Popstar: Report

Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn made it clear that he’s “moved on” from the popstar, according to The Guardian.

The reporter asked Alwyn whether “he must just want to move on” from his relationship with Swift, and wrote, “he pushes back: he has moved on,” quoting him as saying, “That’s something for other people to do,” he says. “We’re talking about something that’s a while ago now in my life. So that’s for other people. That’s what I feel.”

Alwyn’s comments were published in a January 5 profile in The Guardian.

The “Brutalist” actor dated Swift for more than six years after meeting her in 2016, according to The Guardian. She is dating professional football player Travis Kelce.

The Guardian asked Alwyn whether he was ever worried that dating Swift would overshadow his career.

“I have tried just to focus on controlling what I can control,” he replied. “And, right from the beginning, tried to focus on the things that are meaningful for me: friends, family, work, of course. So noise outside of that, I think I’ve done what lots of people who find themselves in the public eye do, which is just try and ignore it. If you don’t, and if you let all of that other stuff in, and if it starts to affect you and your behaviour, you’re living from the outside in. And then you’re pretty (expletive).”

“I have great family and friends and real things in my life; those are the things that kept me tethered to the ground,” Alwyn told The Guardian. “So I don’t know how else to say it, it’s… just in a different room.”

Alwyn has spoken about his relationship with Swift before, referring to it as “long, loving” to The Sunday Times Style.

“I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathize and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years. That is a hard thing to navigate. What is unusual and abnormal in this situation is that, one week later, it’s suddenly in the public domain and the outside world is able to weigh in,” he told Sunday Times Style.

Some people believe that Swift referenced her failed relationship with Alwyn in some of her songs, according to Sunday Times Style. He told the publication that there is a “gap” between reality and what the public knows about the failed relationship.

“As everyone knows, we together — both of us, mutually — decided to keep the more private details of our relationship private. It was never something to commodify and I see no reason to change that now,” Alwyn told that interviewer. “And, look, this is also a little over a year ago now and I feel fortunate to be in a really great place in my life, professionally and personally. I feel really good.”
