Ted Lasso Season 4 Stars Tease the Surprise Return

Brendan Hunt, Jason Sudeikis and Brett Goldstein in "Ted Lasso," now streaming on Apple TV+

Fans of “Ted Lasso,” get ready—season 4 is officially in the works, and key cast members are already dropping some tantalizing hints about what’s to come. From surprise storylines to hopes for the series’ future, stars Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein are giving viewers plenty of reasons to believe the best is yet to come.

Hannah Waddingham Confirms Filming and Praises New ‘Ted Lasso’ Scripts

The Emmy-winning series “Ted Lasso” will kick off filming for season 4 this July, actress Hannah Waddingham recently revealed. During a May 21 interview with Capital FM Radio, Waddingham, who plays AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Welton, confirmed production dates while teasing what fans can expect from the new season’s “beautifully drawn” scripts.

“We thought we’d mourned the loss and now it’s rising from the dead,” Waddingham said, referring to the show’s surprising renewal. Apple TV+ announced the new season on March 14, though details remain limited. According to USA Today, the season will include 10 new episodes set to air in 2026.

Waddingham praised the creative team behind the series, calling them “real Jedi Knights” and applauding their approach to storytelling. “They’re just incredible,” she said. “And we’ve got like a full room of real feminist men. So we’ve got all the fabulous women there, but men that are in there, I think you really see it in the scripts… it’s just so beautifully drawn.”

Adding to the excitement, Waddingham’s interview coincided with Jason Sudeikis’ earlier reveal on the “New Heights” podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce. Sudeikis, who stars as Ted Lasso and serves as an executive producer, shared that his character will coach a women’s soccer team in the upcoming season—an intriguing new direction for the show.

Brett Goldstein Hints at a Future Beyond Season 4

Fellow cast member and writer Brett Goldstein also chimed in recently with his own thoughts about season 4—and what could follow. During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, Goldstein, who plays the fan-favorite Roy Kent, discussed whether he believed season 3 was meant to be the series’ end.

“We did all cry, and we did all hug,” Goldstein admitted. “But I also think, if I’m honest, a lot of us when we were hugging said, ‘we’ll come back, won’t we?’ I felt 90%—I can’t give you the numbers—I felt like we’d come back, but I didn’t know.”

When Kimmel asked if season 4 would be the final chapter, Goldstein joked about Apple’s involvement. “I think that’s a conversation for Apple, and I say that because someone from Apple is pointing a sniper rifle at me as you ask that question,” he quipped. “I think we’d love to do it forever, but I think there’s a limit…”

While Goldstein’s comments stop short of confirming additional seasons, they signal strong interest from the cast in continuing the beloved series.
