Richard Gere revealed the simple thing he does every day to stay grounded: kiss his wife. Hello! asked the “Pretty Woman” actor “which daily activity provides him with a sense of calm.” Gere smiled before responding, “Kissing my wife. When she lets me, which isn’t all the time.”

His wife, Alejandra Silva, playfully clarified her stance on kissing her husband by adding, “Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Otherwise, it would be too easy, right?”

According to Us Weekly, Gere and Silva were first romantically linked in 2015 when they were photographed together in Sicily. By April 2018, the two were married, and less than a year later, they welcomed their first child together. The next year, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Silva gave birth to the couple’s second child.

Although Gere and Silva started dating in 2015, they had known each other for many years prior. According to Hello!, the two were family friends for at least ten years before a mutual friend reintroduced the future lovebirds in 2014.

There’s more than a 30 year age difference between the Hollywood Star and the publicist, but they still have plenty in common. Both Gere and Silva practice Buddhism, which helps them solve problems in their marriage. ” we were just having a drama about one of our kids. [Alejandra] is always really good with [saying]: ‘OK, I know I want to strangle you right now, but I’m going to take a deep breath and we’re going to talk through this. OK, now what’s going on? I’d like to know what are you feeling,’” Gere said.

He may be best known for his roles in “Pretty Woman” and “An Officer and a Gentleman,” but Gere’s acting career hasn’t slowed down since his 80s and 90s success. In 2024, Gere released two feature films, “Oh, Canada” and “Longing.”

Gere also had a starring role in all ten episodes of “The Agency: Central Intelligence” on Paramount+ with Showtime. That show has been renewed for a second season.
