Television fans, the 2025 Emmys are going all in on celebrating the shows we love. And a few we didnât know we needed to hear from again. According to Deadline, Jesse Collins (one of the producers for the 77th Emmys) explained, “Weâre definitely just celebrating television… we want everybody to just have fun for three hours.”
From nostalgic throwbacks to star-studded reunions and heartfelt tributes, it seems like this yearâs show is set to hit all the right notes.

âGolden Girlsâ Turns 40!
Yep, you read that right; âGolden Girlsâ is officially hitting a big milestone. To mark the occasion, Reba McEntire, and a few friends, are scheduled to belt out the iconic theme song, âThank You for Being a Friend.â With a perfect mix of heart and fun this could be a full-on celebration of a show that still feels timeless. Perhaps the moment will have both longtime fans and newcomers grinning from ear to ear.
Reunions, Throwbacks, and More
The nostalgia train doesnât stop with the âGolden Girlsâ either. The cast of âLaw & Orderâ is reuniting, giving fans a serious dose of detective energy. Meanwhile, âGilmore Girls” stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel are set to be on hand to celebrate the seriesâ 25th anniversary. Here’s to hoping they can bring a bit of Stars Hollow back to life.
âGreyâs Anatomyâ isnât being left out either. Eric Dane and Jesse Williams are to be on deck to celebrate 20 years of the medical drama that made us all obsessed with Seattle Grace. And thereâs even supposed to be a âParadiseâ nod with Sterling K. Brown and James Marsden.Â
Looks like producers are making sure every corner of TV fandom gets a little love this year. They’re bringing together a unique blend of chaos and joy.
Music and Memories
Of course, it wouldnât be the Emmys without a few emotional moments too. Vince Gill is scheduled to perform his 1995 song âGo Rest High On That Mountainâ with Lainey Wilson during the âIn Memoriamâ presentation, honoring those weâve lost. Itâll be the first time the two perform together on-stage. Maybe we could all use a perfect combination of respect, emotion, and music magic.
Letâs be real; between the heartfelt moment and all the throwbacks, the night promises a balance of laughter, nostalgia, and a few tears. This is shaping up to be one Emmy night thatâll have everyone talking for days afterwards. Aand we canât wait.
The 2025 Emmys air Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 8:00pm ET on CBS and stream on Paramount+.Â
