<p id=”par-2_71″>In the first look at the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/reality-tv”>reality TV</a> family’s new docuseries, <em>The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, </em>Todd, Julie, and their kids open up about how the <em>Chrisley Knows Best </em>couple’s legal battles and prison sentences changed their lives. The extended preview for the show, which premieres September 1 on Lifetime, highlights Todd and Julie’s emotional reunion after their release, as well as the family’s determination to clear Todd and Julie’s names. </p>

<p id=”par-3_82″>The five-minute preview traces <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/todd-and-julie-chrisley-shut-down-divorce-rumors.html/”>Todd and Julie’s trajectory</a> from successful reality TV stars to prison inmates. While they are now out of prison following a pardon from president Donald Trump, the fact of their conviction clearly still rankles them. Even though a jury found the couple guilty of a multi-million dollar fraud and tax evasion scheme in 2022, they’ve continued to assert their innocence. And according to son Chase Chrisley, there’s more to the story than what the public has been told. </p>
<p id=”par-4_30″>“I want people to know the truth. What actually went down with my family,” he says. “There’s a score to be settled. My dad is not one to play with.” </p>
<p id=”par-5_6″>Todd echoes Chase’s desire for transparency. </p>
<p id=”par-6_29″>“I’m looking at this as me exposing the truth,” he says in an interview. “And depending on how long this interview goes, you might see what you bargained for.”</p>

<p id=”par-7_27″>Although Todd and Julie are now back home, it’s clear that their court case and conviction fractured the family in ways that may be impossible to fix. </p>
<p id=”par-8_15″>“We’ve had our own family members betray us,” Todd and Julie’s younger son Grayson declares. </p>
<p id=”par-9_24″>Todd’s daughter Lindsie Chrisley spoke to federal agents who were looking into her parents’ finances. It’s an act <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/savannah-chrisley-teases-run-congress.html/”>her sister Savannah Chrisley</a> can’t forgive. </p>
<p id=”par-10_20″>“The prosecutor read the letter Lindsie wrote to the FBI,” she says. “We’re no longer family. Lose our last name.” </p>
<p id=”par-11_26″>The series also touches on claims from Todd’s business partner that the two were engaged in an intimate relationship. Chase seems to brush off those allegations. </p>
<p id=”par-12_16″>“I mean, if your blood will screw you over, then a stranger definitely will,” he says. </p>
<p id=”par-13_36″>“This family’s been torn apart,” Toddy’s mother Nanny Faye says to Julie’s parents. “Because it was always like this,” she says, holding her fingers together. “And now it’s like this,” she continues, opening up her hand. </p>

<p id=”par-14_51″>With Todd and Julie locked up, the rest of the family struggled to hold it together. Savannah took charge of caring for her two youngest siblings, Chloe and Grayson. Meanwhile, Chase ran into his own problems with the law following a January 2025 arrest for assault at an Atlanta sports bar. </p>
<p id=”par-15_13″>“Chase is not Chase,” Savannah says. “Like, it’s literally like a blank shell.”</p>
<p id=”par-16_30″>“There’s a part of me that’s so afraid he’s gonna die,” a tearful Savannah later tells someone. “That I don’t even want to try to have a relationship with him.”</p>
<p id=”par-17_28″>“With my parents gone, our household is completely divided,” she says to a producer. “I told my parents, I don’t know if it can ever be repaired, honestly.” </p>
<p id=”par-18_21″><em>The Chrisleys: Back to Reality </em>premieres in a two-night event on September 1 and 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Lifetime. </p>
