The moment Ghost Adventures star Aaron Goodwin discovered his wife had been arrested over a murder-for-hire plot targeting him has been aired on TV.
The paranormal activity hunter has accumulated a huge following over the years thanks to his popular Discovery+ TV show which he was in the middle of filming when his wife, Victoria Goodwin, was apprehended by police.
She was charged with solicitation to commit murder and conspiracy to commit murder, as shown in the booking information in Clark County, Nevada.
Now, Discovery Plus has released the footage of Aaron receiving the call that his wife had been arrested – and the life-altering reason why.
In the clip we see him in a desolate building at nighttime explaining how to take photos in the dark when he receives an alarming message.
He then quickly exits the building to figure out what’s going on as his co-host follows closely behind in confusion.
The scene then cuts off with the narration explaining this was the moment he discovered the murder-for-hire plot.
The voiceover says: ‘At this point we will not be showing any further footage. But is a this moment that Aaron recevies a call from the police that his wife and has been arrestec and charged with the conspiracy to commit murder by hiring a hitman to have Aaron killed.’
Discussing the airing of this scene, Aaron wrote on Instagram: ‘This next episode of Ghost Adventures is when I got the FaceTime call from the cops.
‘They were in my house & told me what she did & she was arrested. I won’t be watching this episode cause I don’t want to relive that night again & what happened before the call.
‘This lockdown is insane & disturbing with what happened during our investigation.’
Fans flocked to the comments to share their support, sending the TV host their love.
The pair had been married since August 2022, with Aaron regularly sharing couple posts captioned with sweet messages about his partner including a Valentine’s Day post.
But details that emerged from this shocking plot accused her of being ready to pay a hitman $11,515 (£8,875), with $2,500 (£1,929) upfront, to kill her husband.
In April, she admitted to the charge of conspiracy to commit murder in a plea deal to avoid a lengthy trial and prison sentence, according to TMZ.
It also came with the prosecutors dropping the charge of solicitation to commit murder and agreeing to make no recommendation to the judge on Goodwin’s sentencing.
It is understood the Victoria had been in contact with a Florida inmate Grant Amato to do the job and had messaged him: ‘Am I a bad person? Because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce.’
Goodwin was sentenced to 36-90 months in prison and said in a statement to Aaron she was ‘so immensely sorry for the pain and anxiety I have caused you and the betrayal you undoubtedly and rightfully feel by my actions.’
She added that she is ‘consumed with regret every day’ and is ‘ashamed’ and ‘disappointed’ with herself, according to USA Today.
Meanwhile, Aaron separately said this situation ‘has led me to fear for my life.’
He continued: ‘I can’t trust anything anymore. I cry every day, I feel so alone. She turned me into a person I never was.’
Aaron filed for divorce a week after her arrest with obtained documents listing his reasons as his ‘views, tastes, likes and dislikes’ have ‘become incompatible to the extent that it has become impossible for them to live together as husband and wife.’
