<p id=”par-2_42″>Before Reese Witherspoon’s iconic character, Elle Woods, went to Harvard Law School, she had to make it through high school. That’s where Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming <em>Elle</em> prequel comes in. It follows high school-aged Elle in her pre-college and law school days. </p>
<p id=”par-3_56″>Joining Lexi Minetree as teenage Elle are Zac Looker (<em>Geek Girl</em>), Jessica Belkin (<em>American Horror Story: Hotel</em>), and Logan Shroyer (<em><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/this-is-us/”>This is Us</a></em>), per <a href=”https://deadline.com/2025/04/zac-looker-jessica-belkin-logan-shroyer-elle-prime-video-1236362562/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”><em>Deadline</em></a>. Looker joins the cast as a series regular, playing Dustin, whom the publication described as “Elle’s classmate and sparring partner who cares about social justice and isn’t afraid to challenge authority.” </p>
<p id=”par-4_55″>Belkin and Shroyer join the <em>Elle </em>cast in recurring roles. The former plays Elle’s best friend, Madison. (Fingers crossed for some quote-worthy dialogue between the two besties.) The latter plays Madison’s cousin—and Elle’s crush—Josh. (Remember Elle is still years away from meeting <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/legally-blonde-warner-huntington-iii-matthew-davis-had-hugest-crush-on-reese-witherspoon.html/”>Warner Huntington III</a> (Matthew Davis) and her eventual husband, Emmett Richmond (Luke Wilson). </p>
<p id=”par-5_54″>Previously announced <em>Elle</em> cast members—besides Minetree—include June Diane Raphael (<em>Grace and Frankie</em>) as Elle’s mom, Eva, and Tom Everett Scott (<em>The Summer I Turned Pretty</em>) as Elle’s dad, Wyatt. Additional cast members also include Gabrielle Policano (<em>Babygirl</em>) as Liz, Jacob Moskovitz (<em>Y2K</em>) as Miles, and Chandler Kinney (<em>Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin</em>) as Kimberly.</p>

<p id=”par-6_60″>Just days before the announcement, Witherspoon revealed that <em>Elle</em> is in production, per <a href=”https://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Culture/legally-blonde-prequel-series-elle-production/story?id=120424923″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”><em>ABC</em></a>. “Harvard was hard. High School was harder,” she wrote in the caption alongside a first-look photo of Minetree as Elle. “Our new series, <em>Elle</em>, is now in production! Couldn’t be more excited to introduce you all to @leximinetree as Elle Woods,” she added alongside heart emojis. </p>
<p id=”par-7_27″>Witherspoon is executive producing the project, which is produced by Hello Sunshine and MGM Studios. At the time of writing, <em>Elle</em> doesn’t have a premiere date. </p>
