The ‘Mole of Montecito’ Says Meghan Markle Isn’t ‘Normal’ and Always ‘Wanted to Be an Influencer’

The hits keep coming out of Montecito as the chatter from Meghan Markle‘s neighbors hasn’t let up.

The former Suits star didn’t fare well in a new poll asking her fellow Americans if they had a favorable view of the Duchess of Sussex. The YouGov poll published in <a href=”https://www.thetimes.com/us/news-today/article/prince-harry-us-popularity-william-kate-poll-qgv6dqbzv#:~:text=Americans%20also%20had%20a%20more,%2C%2025%20per%20cent%20negative).” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>The Times found that only 4 in 10 people in the U.S. hold a favorable view of Prince Harry’s wife.

And now, someone dubbed the “Mole of Montecito” is offering a reason why Meghan’s popularity is continuing to plummet here at home.

Some of the things Meghan’s neighbors have publicly said about her

One of the Sussexes’ neighbors Richard Mineards, who is also a writer for the Montecito Journal, revealed that even though the duchess speaks about the importance of community she is not at all involved in the Montecito community.

<figure class=”wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter” id=”emb-1″>

Inside Meghan and Harry’s $14M Montecito home https://t.co/b9MIwWyaLc pic.twitter.com/DdH1UITmjY
— New York Post (@nypost) March 8, 2021

“I personally don’t think that Meghan is an asset to our community,” Mineards said. “She doesn’t really go out or get involved with the community. Harry has to a certain extent … but Meghan doesn’t seem to get seen anywhere … And you don’t see him either … It’s a very wealthy community, we have a lot of people giving a lot of money to our cultural organizations as well as charities, but we don’t see them. They live rather splendidly, it couldn’t be a nicer place. The community is waiting for them — they’re gnashing [champing] at the bit.”

Another neighbor, PR and communications worker Barry Maher, described Meghan as nothing more than a “traveling soap opera.”

And several other residents who spoke <a href=”https://www.vanityfair.com/style/story/prince-harry-meghan-markle-cover-story-2025″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Vanity Fair said that the duke and duchess have done nothing in the area but caused an “increase in housing prices [and] out-of-towners coming in driving too fast and taking up all the street parking.”

Another Montecitan fumed: “I still think they’re the most entitled, disingenuous people on the planet. They moved away from England to get away from the scrutiny of the press, and all they do is try and get in the press in the United States.”

The ‘Montecito Mole’ says the duchess wanted to be an ‘influencer’ and is being laughed at

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Next-Door Neighbor Says He Tried to Make Them Feel Welcome in Montecito but They Shunned Him

And that’s not all. A source dubbed in the Daily Mail as “The Montecito Mole” claims that many neighbors have been laughing behind Meghan’s back as they’re realizing she “isn’t normal” and planned “to be an influencer” all along.

“When the princess-thing didn’t work out, she [Meghan] reverted to the person she was when [Harry] found her,” the source said. “She’s trying to say she’s exceedingly normal, which she isn’t. It’s all very LA actress.”

The “Montecito Mole” added: “It’s glaringly obvious she doesn’t get [why her popularity has plummeted]. It proves people don’t really change, and all along she just wanted to be an influencer and TV star.”

Meghan hasn’t been labeling herself an “influencer” though, instead she considers herself to be an “entrepreneur” and recently told <a href=”https://people.com/meghan-markle-intimate-interview-prince-harry-kids-as-ever-brand-netflix-series-exclusive-11689103″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>People magazine: “I see myself as an entrepreneur and a female founder, and if the brand ends up influential, then that’s great.”
