While Jenna Fischer might make you laugh while you’re watching old episodes of “The Office,” she’s been dealing with a serious matter in her personal life. Indeed, the star took to Instagram on Monday, December 1, to mark two years since her breast cancer diagnosis.

Recreating a photo that she had taken almost a year earlier, you can see the actress in a robe, sipping coffee while spending time in a hotel room.

In the caption, she wrote, “One year later. Same hotel. Longer hair. Another great trip to St. Louis for my family’s Thanksmas celebration! Another cozy stay at my favorite hotel @fsstlouis[.]”

“It was exactly 2 years ago in December 2023 that I got the news I had breast cancer,” she continued. “All of my diagnosis and treatment dates are burned into my brain. These ‘anniversaries’ inspire reflection. I try to take a moment and sit with all that has happened.”

In January, the actress shared a similar photo on Instagram; however, she had shorter hair and wrote, “Happy New Year! What a year 2024 was. Yesterday was the one year anniversary of my breast cancer surgery. I spent the day in St. Louis surrounded by family doing a belated Christmas with grandparents and cousins after luxuriating at my FAVORITE hotel of all time the @fsstlouis I mean…cozy robe, coffee, book, and that view!”

Jenna Is Feeling ‘Thankful’

In the caption of Fischer’s post, she added, “I’m thankful for so many things…health, family, our crazy pets that make us laugh. I’m also very grateful for working. While 2024 was all about cancer treatments, 2025 has been a creative adventure. I spent most of 2024 in an easy chair in my living room. In 2025, I got to travel and film New Years Rev in Oklahoma City and then perform Ashland Avenue at The Goodman Theater in Chicago.”

“Acting again has fed my soul. And, getting to do my podcast Office Ladies each week with my BFF Angela Kinsey is the constant,” she wrote. “… When I got my diagnosis, I wondered if I’d ever be able to work again. So, this past year, filled with work and artistic growth has been so meaningful.

“Most of all, I’m thankful to be cancer-free. I’m grateful every time I have a new scan, and I get that news. (My pink sisters know the anxiety that comes with those scans.)”

The Star Also Sends Her Love to Those ‘Battling a Health Issue’

Fischer certainly knows that she’s not alone. That’s why she finished her message with a special sentiment.

“Sending my love to anyone battling a health issue right now,” she wrote. “And to everyone else, please don’t skip your mammograms, colonoscopies and skin checks.”
