Traitors star Elen Wyn has revealed she has two wombs and cervixes in a podcast discussing periods.
The 25-year-old appeared on The Traitors series 3 for two episodes before being voted out in the second banishment. Since then, she’s used her platform to talk about issues relating to women’s health.
Recently, she appeared on the podcast, It’s Not JUST a Period!, and spoke about an MRI scan, which revealed her ‘abnormal anatomy’.
Wyn told the host of the podcast, Alexandra Morris: ‘I have two wombs and two cervixes.’
Finding out about the news, Wyn said she felt shocked: ‘It was quite surreal. I was never sad or stressed.’
She added: ‘I’m ok with it.’
Wyn told Morris that the gynaecologist had to create a diagram so she could visualise her anatomy.

She explained: ‘I have one ovary and one fallopian tube attached to each womb, but both of them are functioning.
‘And he [the gynaecologist] said they do have the technology to protect both wombs if I were to get pregnant one day.’
Speaking positively, Wyn said: ‘I’m kind of grateful that I do have an abnormal anatomy, because otherwise I wouldn’t have found out I have endometriosis as well.’
What is endometriosis?
Endometriosis is a condition that sees cells similar to those in the lining of the womb grow in other parts of the body.
Symptoms can be severely painful, and some people may find it hard to get pregnant. Currently, it has no cure.
According to the World Health Organisation, it affects around 10% of reproductive-age women and girls globally.
Initially, Wyn says she was ‘terrified’ after she was told during an internal ultrasound that they couldn’t locate her cervix.
She was told the ultrasound revealed that she didn’t have endometriosis, but that her anatomy was very ‘different’.
As a result, Wyn was referred for an MRI scan ‘quite urgently’, which revealed her condition.
The scan then led to her endometriosis diagnosis, and revealed that she was living with one kidney, two cervixes, and two wombs.
In the episode, Wyn talks about the struggles she’s faced since starting her period as a teenager, facing pushback from doctors who told her to ‘work on her pain tolerance. ’
How common is having two cervixes?
Having two cervixes, or uterus didelphys, to give the condition its scientific name, is reported to occur in 0.1–0.5% of women in the United States and has been estimated to occur in 1/3,000 women around the globe.
With that in mind, the condition may be more common than we think, as many cases go undetected if there are no medical complications.
She recalls being told ‘so many times’ that she was ‘just being dramatic’.
Wyn describes ‘crying out of relief’ when she received her diagnosis because she knew she had it.
