The Traitors crew has reportedly been feeling the heat with wildlife causing chaos during filming.

The hit BBC gameshow is launching a celebrity version later this year, but filming on the next civilian series has just wrapped.

It’s said critters in Scotland left the poor crew struggling at Ardross Castle in the Highlands, with extra measures put in place.

As reported by The Sun, the area has had an increase in tick population, as well as mosquitos and midges, due to the recent heatwaves, which has made things uncomfortable for the cast and crew.

‘There are always challenges filming outdoors but this time is was worse than ever,’ an insider said. ‘The crew were having to wear nets over their heads to stop themselves from being bitten.

‘And ticks were a nightmare – some became experts in getting them out of people’s bodies fully.’

The source added that while it’s usually the contestants feeling the pressure, ‘this time the crew went through hell’.

The beloved game of deceit and treachery sees 22 strangers move into a Scottish Highlands castle and complete a series of challenges and missions to contribute to a potential £120,000 jackpot.

Of course, it’s not that simple as they also have to work out who the traitors are in their midst, and who is truly faithful, in a bid to stop the fakes from stealing the prize fund.

The upcoming fourth civilian series – despite the critter chaos – is set to return to the BBC early next year in line with previous series.
