A fan favorite Hallmark star recently revealed a major oops she did a while back that generated a lot of laughs and a fair amount of embarrassment. Holly Robinson Peete told the story during an appearance on the “It’s Tea Time” podcast with Raven-Symone and Miranda Maday. In addition, the clip with Robinson Peete sharing the story was also shared on the show’s Instagram page on September 16.
The “Hats off to Love” star was teasingly asked how much therapy one of her sons needed after she accidentally sent a saucy photo to him instead of her husband.
Holly Robinson Peete Was Relieved the Photo Went to the Son It Did
Robinson Peete lovingly quipped that thank goodness the kid she sent it to was her son who has autism, because it was much easier to explain away in that case. She said if she had sent it to her daughter or either of her other two sons, they would have had a much more intense reaction.
“I was sending a sexy little something to my husband. It was just like, a little picture. I was just turning around and just showing him a little booty,” she explained.
She continued, “Unfortunately, they have the same name. It’s too close in my contacts, which was my fault. And so I clicked the wrong one.”
When she didn’t get a response from her husband, Rodney Peete, she called him and asked why he hadn’t said anything. He didn’t know what she was referring to, and that’s when she realized her mistake.
Her son RJ was perplexed by why she sent him a photo of her backside. She quickly covered, explaining, “‘You know what, I meant to send that to dad.’ He goes, ‘Why would you send dad a picture?’ I said, ‘Well, because I thought I had like a little something was on it and I needed dad to look cuz I might go to the hospital later.’”
She joked that she just came up with whatever she could manage in that awkward moment, and her son accepted it.
Robinson Peete laughed, “So yes, he’s not at therapy…had been one of them other kids, that bill would have been high.”
Fans Loved Robinson Peete’s Awkward Story
When the show shared that particular clip on their Instagram page, Robinson Peete admitted, “Something about this podcast that makes you tell on yourself!!”
One fan commented, “The autism comment…it doesn’t have to be doom and gloom all the time. You’re allowed to find humor as well.” Robinson Peete replied to that comment in agreement. “Yes, amen you have to find the humor.”
Another fan shared, “As the mother of an Autistic son, I cackled very loud. My son is an adult in many ways, but also a small child in other ways.”
“I learned so much from you as a mom with an autistic son myself. Love the autism humor. I get it. Mom of 4 as well. Thank you,” commented another fan.
One critic wrote, “That wasn’t nice to say.” Peete responded, “He didn’t mind it and he thinks it’s funny now at 27. Now what??”
“Bless his heart…I love how you explained it away lol,” added someone else.
“As an autism Mom who has loved her since back in [the] 90s ohhhhh I LOVE HER EVEN MORE NOW. I needed that laugh,” another comment read.
An additional response read, “Such a human mistake. I love you even more, now! Hilarious!”
