Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet showcased their ‘authentic’ love as the actor made a sweet declaration about his partner while on stage.
The A-list couple were among the attendees at the Critics’ Choice Awards last night, as the 30-year-old actor scooped up an award for his performance in Marty Supreme.
After winning the gong for best actor, he took to the stage to thank those who helped him snag the win, including his girlfriend Kylie, who was sitting in the audience watching the win.
‘Thank you to my partner of three years,’ began Timothee in his speech.
‘Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you.’
The camera panned to Kylie as she mouthed ‘I love you’ and kept her eyes fixed on the star, with her hands clasped together.
Body Language Expert, Adrianne Carter commented that it was clear there is a lot of real emotion between these two who were both trying to hold back their nerves on the day.
Adrianne commented that Kylie’s clasped hands ‘can indicate internal emotional regulation as a means of self-soothing – holding it all together.’
She added: ‘Her facial expression is a fairly flat smile, but I think this might be due to tweakments rather than a lack of emotion.
She added that Timothee was also containing emotion, and was authentic when he told Kylie he loved her.
‘When he says ‘I love you’, we see him move the award in time with his words – this is a sign of authenticity and he means what he says – the timing and beat are spot on with his words,’ she commented.
She added of his nerves: ‘hands behind the back usually signal – I’m in control or a containment of emotion.’
The expert then analysed some of the publicity shots and highlighted that one red carpet snap shows the genuine support and confidence between the pair.
‘He has a warm, genuine smile, and he’s obviously enjoying the moment, showing confident body language,’ Adrianne commented.
And when it comes to Kylie: ‘She is slightly behind Timothee and her hands are holding his hand and holding his arm – she is the supporting act in this situation. She’s sending the message that this is about relational focus for her and not about standing out and putting the attention on him and his moment.’
When did Timothee Chalament and Kylie Jenner start dating?
The reality TV star, 28, and the Marty Supreme actor began dating three years ago, and she has joined the star for many public appearances in recent months.
The couple was first romantically linked at the beginning of 2023, before they confirmed their relationship at Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour later that year.
This public confession of love was a rare declaration as they have made sure to keep their relationship firmly behind closed doors aside from the odd high-profile public appearance.
Timothee has even refused to speak about his romance with Kylie, telling Vogue earlier this year that he ‘will not talk about’ the romance.
He added: ‘I don’t say that with any fear, I just don’t have anything to say.’
