On the night of December 8, 2025, it was a dog fight (literally!) on the social media photo-sharing app Instagram when Tom Brady and Orlando Bloom shared a hilarious exchange about their adorable dogs. The unexpected back-and-forth between the two megastars essentially boiled down to whose pooch was the cutest.
It all began when the legendary patriots quarterback posted a sweet snap to his Instagram Stories of a tiny four-legged friend, a Terrier named Fluffy, with the caption, “My Guard Dog.” Remember this is not the dog Brady famously cloned with the company Colossial Biosciences. Brady has owned Fluffy, a naturally born dog, since 2016, per Sports Illustrated.
Gisele Bündchen, to whom Brady was married at the time, shared a shot of the pup in February of that year.
Bloom, who is beloved for playing the swoon-worthy elf Legolas in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, hit back with a snap his own pet, a teacup poodle named Biggie Smalls who frequently accompanies him on media appearances. He wrote, “@TomBrady I see your guard dog, and raise you mine.” Read on to see how Brady responded.
Tom Brady Admits Defeat in Dog Fight With Orlando Bloom
After Orlando Bloom, whose ex-wife Katy Perry recently went public with Justin Trudeau, one-upped him in a playful battle for the cutest pup, the football star admitted defeat. He responded to Bloom with the message, “Ok, you win,” before adding a silly string of tongue-out emojis to show that the back-and-forth was all in good fun.
Bloom then reposted the snap of Brady waving the white flag, cementing his triumph in the cuteness war. Afterward, he posted a heartwarming video that suggested dogs might be “angels in disguise.” The vide, shared by the account @faya_the_westie, said, “What if dogs are angels in disguise? Think about it. They appear exactly when we need them most. They love without judgment. They heal without asking questions. They guard without being asked. They comfort without being trained.”
Why Did Tom Brady Clone His Dog?
The dog Brady was comparing to Orlando Bloom’s was a small Terrier named Fluffy, whom he has owned for over 10 years after originally rescuing the pet with ex-wife Gisele Bundchen. However, Brady does own another dog, Junie, whom he cloned from the family’s previous pet, a pit bull mix named Lua who passed away in 2023.
ESPN says Brady explained he cloned his family dog because he loves animals. “They mean the world to me and my family. A few years ago, I worked with Colossal and leveraged their non-invasive cloning technology through a simple blood draw of our family’s elderly dog before she passed.”
