Rumors have been swirling that actress Sofia Vergara and NFL superstar Tom Brady are dating. While many believe they could be a power couple, a report emerged that Tom felt she was too old for him. Now, his representatives are coming to her defense in light of the alleged comments.Â
According to Page Six, a representative for Tom Brady spoke to PEOPLE about the hate that’s been directed toward his rumored relationship with Sofia Vergara. The person told the outlet, “Tom never said, nor would he ever say, anything like this. It is pure fiction.”
So far, representatives for Sofia Vergara have not responded to the outlet’s request for a comment. It’s also unclear how the rumor of Tom Brady saying this began.Â
The Rumors of a ‘Summer Romance’ Between Tom Brady and Sofia Vergara Began at an Event
So, where did the rumors of a romance between Tom Brady and Sofia Vergara start? In a nutshell, an insider spoke to Page Six and stated that the two had been spending time together in Ibiza, Spain. The person called their connection a “summer romance.”
The rumors stemmed from them both being on the Luminara superyacht, which the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection launched. The report says there were several A-list stars on the yacht, including Martha Stewart, Kendall Jenner, Kate Hudson, Naomi Campbell, and more. This was a two-night voyage.
The report goes on to say that Tom Brady and Sofia Vergara had obvious chemistry while on the yacht. They were even photographed sitting next to each other. However, this may not have been by happenstance as the insider said, “He asked to switch seats to sit next to her at dinner.”
Additionally, the two were said to continue hanging out in Spain after the voyage ended. This all comes after Tom Brady attended Jeff Bezos’ wedding in Italy.Â

In addition to the dating rumors with Tom Brady, Sofia Vergara celebrated a birthday on July 10. She took to Instagram to highlight the occasion with a brand new bikini picture as well as a video of several flowers she’d received. Sofia captioned the image, “Bday in Sardinia!!”
Of course, many of her famous friends posted kind messages in the comments, including Heidi Klum and several others. The post currently has more than 700,000 likes on the platform. The accompanying video also includes a red and white birthday cake.Â
