
Tom Cruise is riding high after “Mission: ImpossibleâThe Final Reckoning” delivered a smashing opening at the box office. The movie opened with $200 million, and “Lilo & Stitch” brought in $341 million, making this Memorial Day weekend the biggest box office ever.

Cruise thanked fans and industry peers with a beautiful note expressing his gratitude. He took to Instagram to share, âThis weekend was one for the history books! “Mission: Impossible 8” Delivers Franchiseâs Biggest Opening Yet
As per a report in Variety, the eighth film in the iconic franchise pulled in $63 million over the three-day weekend and an estimated $77 million across the four-day Memorial Day frame. Itâs the highest opening in the series, slightly ahead of 2018âs “Fallout.”
In his heartfelt note, Cruise also thanked the studios behind the movie, adding, âTo everyone that works at Paramount Pictures and Skydance, thank you for your many years of partnership and unwavering support. Cruise Stays Humble, Plays Coy on Franchise Future
Ahead of release, Tom Cruise went all-in promoting the film worldwide, including a significant stop at the Cannes Film Festival. ‘The Final Reckoning‘ reportedly cost around $400 million, making it one of the most expensive films ever produced.

As per a report in Variety, when asked if this is his last time as Ethan Hunt, Cruise said:
âIâd rather just people see it and enjoy and weâve had an amazing time doing it and itâs been a lot of fun and I just want you all to enjoy it. Enjoy this and know everything is the culmination has come to this moment right now.â
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie and co-written with Erik Jendresen, “Mission: Impossible â The Final Reckoning” is Tom Cruiseâs last mission as Ethan Hunt. The movie features a strong cast including Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Henry Czerny, and Angela Bassett.
At this monthâs Cannes Film Festival, “Mission: Impossible â The Final Reckoning” received a 7½-minute standing ovation in the Grand Théâtre Lumière. “Mission: ImpossibleâThe Final Reckoning” is now playing in theaters nationwide.
