Tonight’s ‘Survivor’ 49 Finale Will Be Interrupted — Here’s Why

<p id=”par-1_12″><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/survivor-gotten-easy-fans-sharply-divided.html/”><em>Survivor </em>fans</a> will need to exercise some patience when watching tonight’s episode. </p>

<p id=”par-2_46″>The competition show’s three-hour season 49 finale kicks off at 8 p.m. ET/PT on December 17. But there will be a pause on the way to the final vote. At 9 p.m., CBS will interrupt the broadcast for a special primetime address from <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/royal-commentators-say-donald-trump-took-dig-prince-harry-meghan-state-dinner.html/”>President Donald Trump</a>. </p>

<p id=”par-3_44″>“The <em>Survivor </em>finale will resume where it left off immediately following the president’s address for Eastern and Central Time Zone viewers on the CBS Television Network and air in its entirety. Check your local listings for more details,” CBS shared in its programming announcement.  </p>

<p id=”par-4_39″>Heading into the finale, five castaways remain in the running for the show’s Sole Survivor title: Rizo Velovic, Savannah Louie, Sophi Balerdi, Sage Ahrens-Nichols, and Kristina Mills. Three will advance to face the jury in the season’s last episode. </p>

<p id=”par-5_38″>Trump’s abrupt decision to speak to the nation  about what he has accomplished so far in his second term threw a wrench into all the broadcast network’s Wednesday lineups, forcing them to awkwardly adjusts schedules at the last-minute. </p>

<p id=”par-6_70″>The president’s speech also conflicts with the finale of <em>The Floor </em>Season 3<em> </em>on Fox. Meanwhile, ABC is scheduled to air the <em>iHeart Radio Jingle Ball 2025 </em>holiday special from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET/PT. The special will be interrupted for the speech and resume after a delay, <a href=”https://deadline.com/2025/12/survivor-the-floor-season-finales-interrupted-trump-address-1236650737/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Deadline</a> reports. On NBC, <em>A Christmas in Nashville </em>is set for 9 p.m. It will now air after the president’s address.</p>
