Travis Kelce Makes Surprise $200 Million Announcement Ahead of Commanders Showdown

Travis Kelce is expanding his already impressive business empire — and this time, he’s headed to the amusement park. The Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end announced that he’s part of a new $200 million investment group that purchased a major stake in Six Flags. The 35-year-old, who recently got engaged to global superstar Taylor Swift, said he “couldn’t pass up” the chance to help shape the future of the iconic theme-park brand.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Kelce joined New York-based hedge fund Jana Partners and other investors to acquire roughly nine percent of Six Flags’ shares in a deal valued at $200 million.

“I am a lifelong Six Flags fan and grew up going to these parks with my family and friends,” Kelce said in a statement. “The chance to help make Six Flags special for the next generation is one I couldn’t pass up.”

Jana Partners and its investors reportedly plan to modernize the parks’ marketing and overall guest experience. Founded in 1961, Six Flags recently merged with Cedar Fair — the company behind Cedar Point and Kings Island in Ohio — creating one of the largest amusement park operators in North America.

The merger means the combined company now owns 42 properties across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, with an additional location set to open in Saudi Arabia later this year. Despite its scale, Six Flags has faced challenges in 2025, with declining attendance and weather issues leading to a steep drop in share value.

This partnership signals confidence from Kelce and Jana Partners that the brand can recover and expand its global footprint.

Inside the ‘New Heights’ Host’s Growing Business Empire

This is far from Kelce’s first venture outside of football. In recent years, he’s built a diverse business portfolio spanning health, fashion, hospitality, and sports.

He co-founded Hilo Nutrition, a wellness supplement brand, and launched Tru Kolors, a lifestyle clothing line that partnered with American Eagle, according to the Daily Mail. Kelce also co-owns Club Car Wash, a successful chain across the Midwest, and holds a minor stake in the Alpine Formula One Team.

Last month, he teamed up with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to open 1587 Prime, a high-end steakhouse in downtown Kansas City that nods to both players’ jersey numbers.

Kelce’s announcement about the Six Flags deal drew excitement from fans online. “As a local to Cedar Point, it truly means a lot to have your support and investment,” one fan wrote on Instagram. Another joked, “Can we get a ride called Cruel Summer?” — a clear nod to Taylor Swift’s hit single.

Kelce also co-owns, along with his brother Jason Kelce, Garage Beer, a Columbus-based company, and the St. Joseph Goats, an Arena League football team located where the Chiefs hold their annual training camp.
