Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are teammates for the Kansas City Chiefs, but also friends, and their latest collaboration is entirely off the field. The NFL superstars have announced their decision to open a steakhouse, and it is set to open soon.

1. The Name ‘1587 Prime’ Is Significant
The name 1587 Prime is significant, and itâs not just a random number; itâs a combination of Kelce and Mahomesâs jersey numbers. Mahomes is 15 and Kelce is 87.
Their new restaurant is located in the Loews Kansas City Hotel in Kansas City. But why Kansas? “[Itâs] just another thing that we want to bring to Kansas City, to be able to show our appreciation for the city, knowing how much they love their food and how much they love their football,â Kelce told People in April 2024.
The steakhouse is around 10,000 square feet and will have two floors, People reports. There will also be private dining rooms, a chefâs kitchen, and a meat display.
2. It Will Open on Patrick Mahomesâ Birthday
The restaurant will officially open on September 17, 2025, which is the day that Mahomes will be celebrating his 30th birthday, People reports.
3. Bookings Open This Week
The restaurant might not officially open until September (which is not long to wait) but bookings will open as early as this week. 1587 Prime is taking bookings from Wednesday, August 20.
The news was announced in an Instagram post on the official 1587 Prime account on Monday, August 18. âBeginning Wednesday, August 20 at 12 pm CST, you can reserve your table for opening night and beyond,â the caption reads. âBe among the first to experience Kansas Cityâs newest steakhouse.â
4. Travis Kelce & Patrick Mahomes Are Excited
âI’ve just been so fortunate to meet such amazing people [and] to be in it with my brother Pat Mahomes,â Kelce told People in April 2024, around the time his latest venture with Mahomes was revealed.
The steakhouse is in collaboration with the hospitality group Noble 33. Kelce reflected on how partnering with them was an âunbelievable opportunity.â
âMe and Travis have been working on that for awhile. Weâre always together. Weâre always at these restaurants, and we have a love for bringing people together,â Mahomes said in March 2024, Fox 4 Kansas City reports.
5. It Will Be Affordable
Kelce and Mahomes have both amassed personal fortunes, but they want their restaurant to appeal to everyone. Mahomes discussed the importance of making their meals affordable in an interview on Fox 4 Kansas City in March 2024.
âIâm sure there will be some things on there that will be $15,â he said of the menu. âAll honesty though, we thought about that and we donât want to make it too upscale, too high-priced that not everybody can go.â
He continued, âSo weâre going to make it a place where hopefully Kansas City can call it home. And that everybody can be there and really enjoy it.â
