
Vanessa Bryant has shared a moving tribute to her late husband, basketball legend Kobe Bryant, for their anniversary.
“#25 #Anniversary 4/18/01,” Vanessa wrote with a throwback photo showing her with Kobe, who died in a tragic helicopter crash with their daughter. She accompanied the photo with heart emojis.
Supporters quickly filled the Instagram comment thread with support. “Sending so much love â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸” wrote one person.

It’s not the first time that Vanessa has posted tributes to Kobe. In fact, she tends to do so on special occasions.
For example, she shared a photo of them together for Valentine’s Day 2025 along with a heart emoji.
Other photos commonly show the couple’s surviving three kids.
In August 2024, she shared a throwback photo showing her kissing Bryant on the cheek and wrote, “Happy birthday @kobebryant . I love you for now, forever & for always. â¤ï¸”
In 2024, she also wished Kobe a happy anniversary, sharing a collage of photos showing them together.

According to US Weekly, Kobe Bryant first met Vanessa in 1999 and it took only six months for them to become engaged.
They were married two years later and went on to have four daughters together, according to the publication.
âWeâve seen couples that have been, like, 85 years old and you look and youâre like, âOh man, such an old, sweet couple,â and Iâd go talk to them because I wanna know ⦠,â Kobe said a few months before he died in an interview with Showtime “Basketballâs All the Smoke,” according to US Weekly.
âOne time a guy goes, âYeah itâs great, but she just kicked me out of the bed last night, I was sleeping on the couch last two nights.ââ
In that interview, Bryant cited commitment and âcompetitiveness of âWeâre going to succeedââ as the driving forces that keep couple’s together, according to US Weekly.
Bryant admitted in that interview that the couple had some challenges along the way, but he said that they were committed to making it work.
“Thatâs all the beauty of it: having the persistence and determination to work through things â very, very tough things â and weâve been able to do that,â he said in that interview. However, Bryant perished in the helicopter crash in January of 2020 along with the couple’s young daughter Gianna, who was an up-and-coming basketball player.
