Victoria Beckham pays subtle tribute to Meghan Markle at knighthood ceremony

Victoria Beckham made a subtle nod to Meghan Markle earlier this week when her husband, David Beckham, accepted his knighthood. The 51-year-old accompanied the former footballer to Windsor Castle on Tuesday, where he became ‘Sir’ David — an upgrade that simultaneously bumped the fashion designer up a social class, too. Now, she holds the official title, Lady Beckham OBE. (Picture: Getty Images)
Titles aside, Victoria looked the part for the formal event, donning a fitted navy dress from her own label, with ruched detailing on the stomach. She also wore a pair of pointed metallic heels, a blue snakeskin clutch bag and subtle silver jewellery. (Picture: Getty Images)
But the fashion detail eagle-eyed fans noticed the most? Posh Spice’s pillbox hat, complete with net detailing. For those in the know, this Stephen Jones Millinery piece was the same one she wore to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding back in May 2018. (Picture: Getty Images)
For the royal event almost eight years ago, Victoria went for a similar sleek look (pictured), wearing a navy dress from a VB 2019 collection. The only difference with this fit was that it had a plunged neckline and longer sleeves. However, both times the mother of four wore her signature brunette locks in a sleek long ponytail, complete with centred bangs to frame her face. (Picture: Getty Images)
Victoria wasn’t the only one whose outfit was a sweet tribute to the royals, though. David’s three-piece suit, which was a Victoria Beckham number (albeit the first-ever tailored menswear piece for the brand), was inspired by King Charles. Made with British wool mohair, David, 50, told The Guardian that the monarch was ‘quite impressed’ with his get-up. (Picture: Getty Images)

Victoria has been the centre of attention recently, thanks to the recent drop of her self-titled Netflix documentary. Two years after the release of her husband’s doc, which followed his rise from humble working-class roots to football stardom, the fashion mogul decided to let the cameras in on her life. Over the three episodes, Victoria gets candid about her life in the spotlight, from her early Spice Girl Days to how she broke into the fashion world — a mean feat, when at the time, many industry heads weren’t ready to take her seriously. There were plenty of heavy subject matters too, from the debt that nearly crippled her business to Victoria opening up about her struggles with body image and eating disorders. (Picture: Netflix)
