Several members of the Spice Girls have left fans delighted after seemingly teasing a reunion.

Formed in 1994, the line-up of the girl group included Mel B (Scary Spice), Melanie C (Sporty Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) and Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice).

Their debut album Spice, which was released in 1996, sold more than 23 million copies worldwide, becoming the best-selling album by a female group in history.

However, four years later the group went on hiatus. They returned for the Spice World tour in 2019 – however Victoria was notably absent and has shut down speculation she could rejoin in the past.

But this week the pop star turned fashion designer, 51, sent fans into a frenzy.

Sharing a video on social media, Victoria was seen sitting on a couch in her living room singing the Spice Girls hit Viva Forever.

At the same time her youngest son Cruz, 20 – himself an aspiring musician – played the guitar and sang along.

Towards the end of the video, Victoria’s husband David, 50, was revealed as the person recording, before jumping in and performing Mel C’s ad-libs during the final chorus.

‘Sorry I ruined it,’ he then commented on the post.

Meanwhile Victoria also showed her awe of her son’s music skills, writing his name alongside a series of love hearts.

However, it was comments from some of her former bandmates that received the biggest reactions.

‘Love this. Getting a head start on rehearsals,’ Mel C wrote, alongside a wink emoji.

Mel B then also added: ‘It’s happening!!! And remember it was all my idea 😉.’

Unsurprisingly, many fans were left floored by the comments.

‘Do it girls! We have been waiting for this for a long time,’ Michael commented.

‘YES! WE ARE READY,’ Jenna shared.

‘DON’T PLAY WITH US MEL,’ Glen added.

Others begged for it to ‘please be true’, while someone else declared: ‘This is doing my head in! Just give us the tour dates already, queeenz.’

Despite the tease, it should not be taken completely seriously, as the pair appear to also be poking fun at the long-standing claims that Victoria has been the one blocking a full Spice Girls reunion.

The last time the 90s group reunited on stage was in 2012, when they performed during the closing ceremony of the London Olympic Games.

However, in April last year they did come together and put on an impromptu performance of Stop during Victoria’s 50th birthday celebrations.

Last month Victoria hinted she wasn’t completely opposed to the idea of getting back on stage with her band mates.

While she initially insisted it’s ‘not ultimately what I want to do anymore’ during an appearance on Andy Cohen’s Sirius XM show, Radio Andy, she continued: ‘It’s tempting. It would be tempting, but could I take on a world tour? No, I can’t. I have a job. But the idea…oh my God.’

But, she added: ‘I mean, I don’t know if I could even still sing. I mean I was never that great!’

Next year will mark the 30th anniversary of the Spice Girls’ debut single Wannabe.

Earlier this week, Mel C appeared on Good Morning America, where she was asked about the possibility of the girl group getting back together.

‘I remain optimistic. It’s our thirtieth anniversary next year,’ she said while crossing her fingers.

‘We toured in 2019, we did a few stadium shows in the UK, and it was incredible.’

She went on: ‘We’re talking and we’re seeing what opportunities are out there. The thing that stops us is we feel so precious about it, we want to make sure it’s the right thing and agree on the right thing.’
