VIDEO: Bella Ramsey Reveals What Texts With ‘The Last of Us’ Co-Star Pedro Pascal Really Look Like

Bella Ramsey might not be acting alongside Pedro Pascal on “The Last of Us” anymore, but their friendship remains strong. The 21-year-old, who plays Ellie in the HBO drama, admitted they’ve deeply missed Pascal following his heartbreaking Season 2 death.

Ramsey, while speaking at HBO’s Emmys nominees event, said the sweetest things about their equation.

Ramsey Shares Sweet Text Exchanges With Pascal

“He’s here, and I have not seen him in so long. I’m looking around, trying to find him,” Ramsey told Variety, admitting they were eager to reconnect.

Though separated by distance and busy schedules, Ramsey shared that their texts with Pascal keep the friendship strong. “Most of our texts consist of, ‘Where in the world are you? I’m here, are you there? Oh, we just missed each other,’” they explained.

Thankfully, this time, the pair did reunite on stage at the Emmy event. Fans often ask Ramsey what Pascal is like off-screen.

Their answer never changes: “It’s, ‘How is Pedro Pascal? Is he as nice as he seems?’ That’s mostly what people ask me, and the answer is, ‘Yes.’”

Ramsey Shares Deep Admiration for Pascal

Ramsey didn’t hold back when asked about their former co-star, telling AP, “I love him very deeply and will forever, and so it was kind of sad to have less with him this season.”

They continued, “I’ve definitely missed him, but I’m hoping that at some point down the line we’ll get to be together on set in a different dynamic, not as Ellie and Joel. But it’s sad — the idea that we might never be Ellie and Joel again.”

Ramsey even joked about what their next project could look like: “I think maybe like a heist movie where we’re robbing a bank together.”

Pascal has expressed the same admiration for Ramsey, telling Esquire, “You understand everything that is being communicated or said. There’s always this empathic way about you. Let’s be real, you’re smarter than me.”

Ramsey is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress, making them the first non-binary performer to earn more than one Emmy nod. Pascal is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor, marking his fifth Emmy recognition.

With “The Last of Us” heading into the September 14 Emmys with 17 nominations, both stars are proving that while their on-screen journey together may be over, their real-life connection remains unshakable.
