Virgin Island fans are ‘mentally preparing themselves’ for the Channel 4 show’s next instalment as the course ‘enters its toughest phase yet.’

The controversial programme follows 12 adult virgins who travel to a Croatian island to embark upon a radical course of intimacy with a ‘hands-on’ experience.

All aged between 22 and 30, the contestants have participated in sessions including touch therapy, which saw them ‘tap into their primal animalistic self’ by nuzzling relationship coaches.

However, some viewers are bracing themselves for tonight’s episode of Virgin Island after the preview aired yesterday. A voice-over revealed the virgins would be ‘pushed further than ever before.’

The clip reveals that the contestants will be stripping naked in front of each other and also become more intimate with their sex surrogates, with one lying naked, telling Dave to ‘just explore.’

On X, viewers expressed concern Virgin Island was ramping up to ‘the next level.

Echoing their sentiment, @demelcy commented: ‘Holy hell, tomorrow’s episode! #virginisland.’

@Missfootyfan shared: ‘Well, tomorrow looks interesting #virginisland.’

In agreement, @shonadon wrote: ‘WTF. It’s going to next level tomorrow?! I’m surprised this isn’t pay-per-view at this rate. #virginIsland.’

@arrow_sorel also added: ‘Oh God.. what fresh hell awaits tomorrow night? #virginisland.’

After its launch last week, Virgin Island was slammed as being ‘exploitative’ and ‘creepy.’

However, it was defended by one of its stars, Ben, who said he had ‘no regrets’ about signing up.

Writing on his own blog, he said: ‘Despite, or perhaps because of, the rise of dating apps and social media, adult virgins in their 20s and early 30s are becoming increasingly common.

‘Prime age adults are both more connected and yet paradoxically more isolated from one another than they’ve ever been.

‘If this show helps to clear even a fraction of the stigma associated with being an adult virgin, it’ll have all been worth it. Even if it doesn’t, I know I got a lot out of it, and I don’t regret taking part at all.’

Other sessions on Virgin Island include vocal breathing exercises, recounting sexual fantasies and anatomy lessons.

The trailer says the cast will ‘experience temptation, chase connection, and experience intimacy’ and Channel 4 describes the show as a ‘warm, authentic and thought-provoking series’.

Those involved hail from a range of backgrounds, from a drama graduate to a delivery driver to a dog groomer.

Virgin Island continues tonight on Channel 4 at 9pm.
