<p id=”par-2_28″>On Thursday, Breckenridge, who plays nurse Mel Monroe in the popular romantic drama, took to her <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/stories/alexandrabreck/”>Instagram</a> Story to share a big update on <em>Virgin River</em> Season 7. </p>
<p id=”par-3_36″>“Good morning! I feel like I’m on day 857 of filming season 7,” the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/this-is-us-season-6-alexandra-breckenridge-talks-finale-hard-not-moved.html/”><em>This Is Us </em>alum</a> said. “We’re almost done, can you believe it? I can’t even believe it. Almost to the finish line.” </p>
<p id=”par-4_46″>“I keep wondering if they’re going to put the show out this year,” she continued. “What do you guys think? Probably, right? I mean, If they have it, they’ll probably drop it … this year, 2025. I don’t know any information. I’m the last to know.”</p>

<p id=”par-5_115″>While Breckenridge is optimistic about the chances of a late 2025 release for <em>Virgin River</em>’s seventh season, fans probably shouldn’t get their hopes up. Netflix has not uttered a peep about a potential release date for the new episodes. Nor was the show mentioned in its recent Tudum fan event, which teased a number of other upcoming 2025 shows and movies, including the fifth and final season of <em>Stranger Things, </em>the third <em>Knives Out </em>film, <em>Wednesday </em>Season 2, and Guillermo Del Toro’s <em>Frankenstein </em>adaptation. None of that means a 2025 release date for <em>Virgin River</em> couldn’t still be in the cards. But the streamer may prefer to wait until 2026 to unveil the new season. </p>
<p id=”par-6_109″>One thing we do know? Season 7 is sure to be dramatic. In classic <em>Virgin River </em>fashion, season 6 ended on a massive cliffhanger. Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) has vanished, and based on the scene Jack (Martin Henderson) discovered at her home, it looks like foul play is involved. And that wasn’t the only major twist in the finale. Pregnant teen Marley (Rachel Drance) showed up to tell Mel that the couple who planned to adopt her baby had backed out, and that she wanted <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/virgin-river-season-6-ending-shocking-twist-mel-jack.html/”>Mel and Jack to step in as parents</a> instead. Could Mel finally be on the verge of achieving her long-held dream of becoming a mother? </p>
<p id=”par-7_24″>Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith had promised that the <em>Virgin River </em>fans will get some answers about what happened to Charmaine in the new season. </p>
<p id=”par-8_43″>“When we pick up in season 7, there’s a time jump of maybe two hours, so we pick right back up in that moment and keep running,” Smith told <a href=”https://www.tvinsider.com/1166722/virgin-river-season-6-finale-ending-charmaine-twins-calvin-doc-clinic/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>TV Insider</a>. “I love having that momentum going from one season to the next.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_21″>Smith also assured worried viewers that Charmaine’s twins aren’t in harm’s way. But the same can’t be said for their mother. </p>
<p id=”par-10_64″>“I would be concerned about Charmaine,” he shared. “I feel like after season 5 with the miscarriage, I want to promise that no babies will be harmed in the production of this show in the future, but the circumstances are messy, and Charmaine’s at the center of it, which is where she tends to typically find herself, in the middle of a mess, right?”</p>
