Voddie Baucham’s loved ones announce news of his death
News of Baucham’s passing comes courtesy of a joint statement from his family and Founders Ministries.
“We are saddened to inform friends that our dear brother, Voddie Baucham, Jr., has left the land of the dying and entered the land of the living,” the statement reads.
“Earlier today, after suffering an emergency medical incident, he entered into his rest and the immediate presence of the Savior whom he loved, trusted, and served since he was converted as a college student. Please pray for Bridget, their children, and grandchildren.”
Baucham was well known throughout his life for his work with Founders. But he gained a new level of fame in his final days, thanks to his association with Charlie Kirk.

Baucham paid tribute to Charlie Kirk in the days before his own death
Both on social media and in his sermons, Baucham frequently discussed Kirk’s recent murder.
“You might Kill the messenger but you can never kill the message,” he wrote in one social media post, adding, “Rest in peace Charlie Kirk.”
“Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, wrote for the sake of the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness, in hope of eternal life,” Baucham told his congregation in one widely circulated video, adding, “May the Good lord accept you both in Heaven, Amen.”
It’s Baucham who’s credited with using a quote from philosoper Soren Kierkegaard to describe Kirk’s “martyrdom.”

“The tyrant dies, and his rule is over. The martyr dies, and his rule begins,” he wrote shortly after Kirk’s death.
“Charlie Kirk was a Christian who had accepted Jesus as his Savior. We know the Lord will be greeting him, saying, ‘Well done good and faithful servant’. Accept Jesus today just like Charlie did,” Baucham added.
Voddie Baucham is survived by his wife, Bridget, as well as several children and grandchildren.
Our thoughts go out to his friends and loved ones during this enormously difficult time.
