<p id=”par-1_22″>Jillian Lauren, the wife of <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/music/”>Weezer</a> bassist Scott Shriner, has been charged with attempted murder following a bizarre incident in Los Angeles. </p>
<p id=”par-2_57″>Lauren, 51, was shot by cops on April 8 after she got involved in a police chase that began following a hit-and-run on the 134 freeway in LA’s Eagle Rock neighborhood, according to a press release from the Los Angeles Police Department. After the accident, which happened around 3:25 p.m., three suspects fled into a residential neighborhood. </p>
<p id=”par-3_65″>Police tracked one suspect to the rear of a residence. As the officers were in the backyard, Lauren – who is also known as Jillian Shriner – was seen in the backyard of her house next door, armed with a gun. The officers ordered her to drop the weapon multiple times. She refused, then “pointed the handgun at the officers, and an Officer-Involved Shooting occurred.”</p>
<p id=”par-4_42″>“Shriner was struck by gunfire and fled into her residence,” according to the LAPD. “She later exited and was taken into custody. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported Shriner to a local hospital, where she was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_23″>Police say Lauren, who was booked for attempted murder, was not involved in the hit-and-run. Officers recovered a 9-millimeter handgun from her home. </p>
<p id=”par-6_72″>Lauren is the author of several books, including her 2010 memoir <em>Some Girls: My Life In a Harem, </em>which chronicled her experiences as a “guest” of Prince Jefri Bolkiah, brother of the Sultan of Brunei. In 2023, she published a true crime book about murderer Samuel Little, <em>Behold the Monster: Confronting America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer. </em>The 2021 Starz docuseries <em>Confronting a Serial Killer </em>profiled Lauren and her unusual relationship with Little. </p>
<p id=”par-7_23″>Lauren married Shriner – whose band is scheduled to perform at the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/coachella-2022-big-sean-claims-harry-styles-paid-way-more-despite-attracting-similar-crowd-sizes.html/”>Coachella Festival</a> this weekend – in 2005. They have two children. </p>
