The very first edition of the Celebrity Traitors came to a fiery conclusion last night, with the final episode being hailed by fans as the ‘best ever’.
Traitor Alan Carr emerged victorious over Nick Mohammed, David Olusoga, Cat Burns, and Joe Marler to claim the £87,500 prize pot for his chosen charity.
19 celebrities were whittled all the way down to three during the finale, which saw Cat outed as a Traitor and Joe left distraught at the very last hurdle.
With Alan now confirmed as the first-ever winner of the Celebrity Traitors, the eyes of the viewers are already focused on when season four of the civilian series will return.
The first three editions of the civilian series have all aired either side of Christmas – but with the celebrity version having only just finished, fans are worried the wait for season four might be a long one.
Here’s everything you need to know about the future of The Traitors, including a provisional release date, which has been teased by the BBC.
When could The Traitors season 4 start?
It has been teased by the BBC that the fourth season of the civilian version of The Traitors could be with us in the next few months.

A short teaser trailer confirmed that the show would return in 2026, but didn’t confirm exactly when.
However, the broadcaster did hint earlier this year that The Traitors season four could be on our screens in ‘early 2026’ – which isn’t a long wait at all.
Filming for the fourth season of the civilian series took place in June 2025, about a month after the famous faces from the celebrity version vacated Ardross Castle.
A source also told The Sun: ‘This year, series three started on January 1, and it was a centrepiece of New Year’s Day evening telly.
‘So it’s likely it will be back then in 2026 too, as it’s a huge tentpole show for the Beeb to kick off the New Year with.’
Official confirmation is some way off yet, though, with Christmas and New Year TV only being confirmed at the beginning of December each year.

A brand new teaser trailer was dropped on Friday morning, featuring all the gothic camp that Traitors fans could ask for.
Hooded and cloaked, a figure walks through a courtyard as a dramatic rendition of Blondie’s Heart of Glass plays aloud in the soundtrack.
As the teaser comes to an end, the cloaked figure walks off camera, with a graphic revealing that the fourth season of the civilian Traitors is ‘coming 2026’.
What charity did Alan Carr choose after winning Celebrity Traitors?
Which charity did he choose?
Alan Carr revealed his £87,500 prize pot will be donated to children’s cancer charity Neuroblastoma UK
What is Neuroblastoma?
According to the charity’s own website, ‘Neuroblastoma is classified as an embryonal tumour, a type of cancer that develops from the cells left behind from a baby’s development in the womb. The cells from which it develops from are specific cells in the nervous system called neuroblasts, giving neuroblastoma its name.’
What does the charity do?
The organisation is a research charity hoping to ‘lead to more effective treatments and ultimately a cure for every child diagnosed with the disease’.

What did Alan Carr say?
‘The charity is so close to my heart that it all became a bit too much. Hopefully when people see how upset I was they won’t feel so bad that I killed all those national treasures.’
Who has won the previous series?
The first season of the civilian Traitors was won by three contestants – Aaron, Hannah, and Meryl – who managed to successfully uncover the identity of final Traitor Wilf and share more than £100,000 between them.
Things took a dark turn at the end of season two, when Traitor Harry convinced Faithful Mollie that he was on her side, only to reveal his true intentions once he’d secured the prize fund.
Poor deceived Mollie banished Jaz, a fellow Faithful, leaving Harry with an open goal to swoop in and take the massive cash prize of more than £95,000.
The third and most recent season of The Traitors was won by two Faithfuls, Jake and Leanne, who banished Traitor Charlotte (and two of their fellow Faithfuls) to split the £94,600 prize pot equally.
