<p id=”par-4_18″>Connor McCaffery was born on July 13, 1998, in Iowa City to parents Margaret and Fran McCaffery. </p>
<p id=”par-5_50″>His father is a college basketball coach. He is currently the head coach at the University of Pennsylvania and previously coached Lehigh University, UNC Greensboro, Siena, and the University of Iowa. He took all four programs to the NCAA tournament at least once and is the Hawkeyes all-time winningest coach. </p>
<p id=”par-6_75″>Connor has followed in his father’s footsteps. He played for the Hawkeyes and after graduation, got into coaching himself. He served as the Basketball Development Coordinator for the Indiana Pacers during the 2023-24 season. That coaching role involved running the scout team, assisting with video operations and the scouting reports, and working out with the active roster. The Pacers advanced to the NBA Eastern Conference Finals in 2024 after missing the playoffs the season before.</p>

During his first season with the Bulldogs, McCaffery helped Butler to a postseason berth as the team made the field for the inaugural College Basketball Crown in 2025.
