Huw Edwards is dominating the headlines after he was handed a six months jail sentence suspended for two years today.
He admitted to three charges of making indecent images of children in July this year, and will now will be required to complete a sex offender programme, and will be placed on the sex offenders register for seven years.
Until April last year, Edwards was best known for his career in TV broadcasting. But after The Sun published claims that he had paid thousands of pounds to a young person for sexually explicit images, his personal life was put under the spotlight too.
When the news broke, his wife Vicky Flind released a statement in which she revealed Edwards was ‘suffering from serious mental health issues’ and will remain in hospital ‘for the foreseeable future’.
But just who is Vicky Flind and are her and Huw Edwards still together?
Is Huw Edwards still married?
It was widely reported that Huw Edwards and Vicky Flind had split up in April this year, and that the former BBC presenter had moved out of the family home.
A source told The Sun: ‘They separated quite a long time ago but have not announced it publicly.
‘Huw has been living elsewhere for a while.’
He is believed to have relocated to another property in London and has been dividing his time between there and his home in Wales.
However, the couple have not publicly announced whether they will be divorcing.

Who is Vicky Flind?
Vicky Flind is a TV editor who previously worked on the BBC One politics show This Week.
She left the show in 2016 and moved to ITV, where she works on another current affairs show, Peston.
Speaking about the move, Flind told The Times: ‘It is very rare to have the opportunity to create a new TV programme. I was lucky enough to have that opportunity 13 years ago with This Week – which I’m delighted to say is still performing strongly.
‘It will be very difficult to leave Andrew and the This Week family, but I’m greatly looking forward to building a brand new programme with Robert Peston and ITV. It’s a very exciting project.’
It was Flind who revealed that her husband was the BBC presenter referred to when the scandal first broke, expressing that her decision to go public was ‘primarily out of concern for his mental well-being and to protect our children.’
She was been showered with support after releasing her statement, with Labour MP Jess Phillips among those to comment on social media.
‘Just coming on here to say that Vicky Flind is by some distance one of the nicest, kindest and most decent women I’ve had the privilege to work with,’ she tweeted.
Robert Peston, meanwhile, said on his show: ‘What few of you will know is that Vicky Flind is the editor of this show, and the person who created it with me – though she hasn’t been involved tonight or at all this week.
‘The Labour MP Jess Phillips tonight described Vicky as the nicest, kindest and most decent woman.
‘I and everyone who works with me here would agree.’

‘In light of the recent reporting regarding the “BBC Presenter” I am making this statement on behalf of my husband Huw Edwards, after what have been five extremely difficult days for our family.
‘I am doing this primarily out of concern for his mental well-being and to protect our children.
‘Huw is suffering from serious mental health issues. As is well documented, he has been treated for severe depression in recent years.
‘The events of the last few days have greatly worsened matters, he has suffered another serious episode and is now receiving in-patient hospital care where he’ll stay for the foreseeable future.
‘Once well enough to do so, he intends to respond to the stories that have been published. To be clear Huw was first told that there were allegations being made against him last Thursday.
‘In the circumstances and given Huw’s condition I would like to ask that the privacy of my family and everyone else caught up in these upsetting events is respected.
‘I know that Huw is deeply sorry that so many colleagues have been impacted by the recent media speculation.
‘We hope this statement will bring that to an end.’
Inside Vicky Flind’s family life with Huw Edwards
Vicky Flind first met Huw Edwards when he was a BBC correspondent at Westminster, before getting engaged in 1993.
Until recently, they both lived in their Dulwich home in south London, where Flind also acts as governor at Dulwich College.
The couple have mostly managed to keep their private life out of the spotlight for the past 30 years, but one of the few occasions they hit the headlines was when they were burgled in 2019.
Edwards was forced to deny reports he had chased the robbers from his home, writing on Twitter at the time: ‘Yes, we had a burglary. No, I didn’t chase the burglar.
‘The police are dealing with it. It happened a month ago. We’re all fine.’

The couple have five children together, all of whom are now adults. They have three sons, Dan, Sammy, and Amos, and two daughters, Hannah and Rebecca.
When asked for his advice on parenting, Edwards previosuly told The Guardian: ’There’s a principle that your youngest child gets a far better crack of the whip than your eldest.
‘All your anxieties and inexperience and cluelessness as a parent are taken out on your eldest child. By the time you get to your youngest, in my case number five, you’re a brilliant parent.
‘So if you could give a parent all the patience and knowledge that they would have with their second or third child or whatever to the first, that’s the one piece of advice I’d give.’
He has also spoken openly about his family’s support through his mental health struggles, with Edwards previously admitting he has suffered bouts of depression since 2002.
Speaking to Men’s Health, he revealed: ‘One of my girls will come to me and ask how I’m feeling. She’s got a code – she’ll say: ‘How are you upstairs today?’ And I think, for a 20-year-old, that’s a nice thing to be asked.’
