The Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) is getting ready to host her annual Christmas Carol concert. Around 1,600 people, including several members of the royal family, will attend the festive event.

Ahead of the annual concert the princess released a statement that read: “This carol service offers a moment of collective togetherness, a chance to celebrate the spirit of community and service, and to honor the visible and invisible bonds that unite us all. The time, care, and compassion you give, often quietly and unspoken, and without any expectation or recognition, make an extraordinary difference to the lives of others.”

Over the last few years, the concert has become such an important date on the royals’ calendar, not just for Kate, but for the entire family.

Now, someone who used to work for the princess is revealing the reason why and it has to do with something the late Queen Elizabeth always said.

Grant Harrold was <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/former-royal-butler-reveals-amazed-king-charles-infamous-pen-incident.html/?swcfpc=1″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>King Charles’ butler for seven years. During his time working for the now-monarch Harrold’s duties included those of valet, housekeeper, house manager, and driver. He also looked after Prince Harry, Prince William, and Kate whenever they stayed at Highgrove House.

Speaking on behalf of <a href=”https://www.olbg.com/casino-sites” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>OLBG, Harrold told Showbiz Cheat Sheet, “It’s a big thing for her because it’s hers. It’s her project; all the royals have their own projects and things they’re passionate about. She’s become known for it. It will be interesting to see what she does this year. She could bring out a violin or a ukulele for all we know. It’s very Christmassy and something for everyone to look forward to — and for her, it’s something to look forward to being a part of every year.”

Harrold added, “It’s obvious that the royals support it because they go every year. If they didn’t like the idea, they wouldn’t go. Without any doubt, they think it’s a great thing. The late queen used to say, ‘You’ve got to be seen to be believed’ and this is very much what Kate is continuing to do. She’s getting all the royal family out together. We used to only see them all together on Christmas morning when they attend church, but now there’s an extra outing. It’s a genius idea, as well as being a lovely one.”

Did Kate ever get nervous leading up to any big events?

Harrold was asked if he thought the Princess of Wales ever got nervous ahead of the event.

“I don’t ever remember Kate being a nervous person. She’s very confident and certain of herself in whatever she does,” he explained. “She’s assertive. She knows what she wants to do. A part of her might worry over things going wrong on the day. She’ll want it to be perfect.”

The princess will host the Together at Christmas carol concert on Friday, Dec. 5, at London’s Westminster Abbey. The concert will be broadcast in the U.K. on Christmas Eve, but will also be available to an international audience on streaming services like Britbox and Amazon Prime Video.
