Amazon mogul Jeff Bezos is throwing what’s being billed as the “wedding of the decade” to bride-to-be Lauren Sánchez this summer in Venice, Italy. But will his billionaire bucks be enough to woo the one singer the couple wants to headline their big day?
According to “Substack,” there is only ONE name on the couple’s wish list for wedding singer. And it’s none other than country legend Dolly Parton.
âThere were other names floated, but Jeff only lit up at one: Dolly,â an insider close to the couple shares with Substack. âSheâs always been his number one.â
âLauren wanted something magical and unforgettable,â a wedding planner quoted in the article says. âAnd Dolly singing âI Will Always Love Youâ isnât just unforgettable â itâs history.â
Jeff Bezos Isn’t Known As a Music Lover
Bloomberg currently lists 61-year-old Bezos as the second richest person in the world, with a net worth of $222 billion. But while the Amazon founder may be known for his business savvy, he’s not known as a music lover. In fact, Substack says that as a teenager, Bezos “memorized local radio station call letters just to fake musical knowledge.”
But when it comes to Dolly Parton, Bezos’ admiration goes much deeper than her songs. In 2022, the billionaire awarded the country icon his “Courage and Civility Award.” When Bezos announced Dolly as the recipient of the $100 million award, he called her a once-in-a-generation leader who âleads with heart.â
Venice Braces for Extravagant Wedding
Sources tell âPage Sixâ Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez will tie the knot aboard Bezosâ $500-million dollar yacht, Koru. The yacht will reportedly be docked in Veniceâs lagoon.
That has Venice bracing for an influx of celebrities during the already-busy summer tourist season.
âThe Daily Mailâ reports that two of the cityâs best hotels, the Gritti Palace and Aman Venice, where George and Amal Clooney tied the knot, are completely booked from June 26 to June 29.
Rooms at both hotels cost a minimum of $3,200 a night. And they go up to almost ten times that amount for certain suites during the busy summer tourist season.
According to the âDaily Mail,â a local Venetian news site reported, âIn preparation for the event, Venice is bracing for the arrival of VIPs. The cityâs top luxury hotels have already been booked, and reports say the entire fleet of water taxis will be made available to shuttle guests across the canals. The logistics point to a highly exclusive, tightly coordinated celebration. Choosing Venice is more than a romantic gesture â itâs a nod to the coupleâs shared history with the city, which theyâve frequently visited during their relationship. ⦠The wedding is poised to be a defining social event of 2025, not only for the couple but for Venice itself.â
A-List Celebs Clamor for Invitation to Bezos’ Wedding
All the hype reportedly has A-list celebrities clamoring to get on the guest list. “Radar Online” reports that big name stars’ “reps and managers are ‘burning up the phone lines’ trying to get their clients into the ultra-posh event.”
According to TMZ and the Daily Mail, invitations to many top celebs have already gone out.
Media mogul Oprah Winfrey got a coveted invite, as did her best friend Gayle King. Leonardo DiCaprio and Eva Longoria made the cut, as did Orlando Bloom and his fiancée, pop star Katy Perry.
Fellow tycoon Bill Gates, media mogul Barry Diller and his wife, fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg are on the guest list. So is Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan received an invitation. As did President Donald Trump, daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner, his brother Joshua and wife Karlie Kloss.
And reality stars Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner got invites. It will not be Kim Kardashianâs first over-the-top wedding. Kim and sister Khloe Kardashian attended the $600 million dollar wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai, India. Thatâs despite admitting they had never met the couple.
