With the third season of “And Just Like That” set to premiere May 29 on Max, fans are already speculating about whether the “Sex and the City” revival will return for a fourth season.
While no official renewal has been announced, eagle-eyed fans have spotted several compelling clues suggesting the story of Carrie Bradshaw and her circle may not be over just yet.
Will “And Just Like That” Return for Season 4?
Max first brought “And Just Like That” to life in December 2021, followed by a second season in June 2023. Even before season 2 wrapped, the network confirmed a third installment.
As reported by People, executive producer Michael Patrick King said, âWe are thrilled to spend more time in the ‘Sex and the City’ universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and aspirational characters played by these absolutely amazing actors. And Just Like That⦠here comes season three.â
Although Max has not officially greenlit a fourth season, fans and industry watchers have spotted several signs that suggest renewal is likely. For one, when Max announced the upcoming premiere, it made no mention of a âfinal seasonâ â something networks typically highlight if a series is ending. Instead, the rollout feels carefully planned, pointing to continued investment in the franchise.
Additionally, the showâs episode count has steadily increased, growing from 10 episodes in season 1 to 11 in season 2, and now 12 episodes for season 3. This upward trend suggests confidence from the platform, not a wind-down.
Clues and Cast Engagement Fuel Season 4 Hopes
The castâs ongoing enthusiasm also adds fuel to speculation. Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis remain deeply engaged with their characters, frequently speaking about the series in interviews and on social media. Notably, Davis even launched a podcast reflecting on the original âSex and the Cityâ series, aptly titled “Are You a Charlotte?”
Of course, the possibility of a fourth season will largely depend on how season 3 performs with viewers.
According to Forbes, while the second-season premiere of “And Just Like That” drew solid numbers, it saw a steep decline compared to the showâs highly anticipated series debut. Per the publication, data from Samba TV, which tracks audience engagement, revealed that season 1âs premiere attracted approximately 1.1 million households during the live-plus-three-day window. In contrast, the season 2 opener drew only 463,000 households â a drop of about 59%.
But for now, optimism runs high among loyal fans who hope Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotteâs adventures will continue beyond this summer.
