Prep for âSummerSlamâ is looking a little… rural for Drew McIntyre. The WWE Superstar posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) revealing heâs currently stranded in the English countryside (yes, with cows) after being blocked from boarding his flight back to the U.S. just days before WWEâs biggest summer event.
âWhy am I stranded? Why am I cutting a promo with cows?â McIntyre captioned the clip (seen below). âThereâs now a good chance I donât make #SummerSlam.â
The Post That Has Everyone Talking
In the video, the Scottish Warrior gives fans a play-by-play with his signature deadpan delivery: âItâs quite the week Iâve had. You want to know how itâs been capped off? I canât get back in America, they wouldnât let me board my flight.â Then, as if proving his location, he pans to the rolling green hills and says, âDoes that look like an American scenic countryside? No!â
According to McIntyre, he was in England attending a friendâs wedding, saying âWhat a wedding it was,â and planned to return home to train for âSummerSlam.â But apparently, travel had other plans. âNo, no, no. I got blocked,â he added, clearly annoyed but staying on-brand with some self-aware humor.
Calling Out His Opponent
The timing couldnât be worse. Drew McIntyre is currently booked for a high-profile tag team match at âSummerSlamâ on August 3, 2025 where heâs set to team up with Logan Paul against Randy Orton and Jelly Roll.
Yep, that Jelly Roll. Check out his previous WWE appearance, which sparked major buzz after he showed up on “SmackDown,” got the crowd fired up, and proved heâs more than just a musical guest.
This travel nightmare is now threatening to throw a serious wrench in WWEâs plans; and possibly rob fans of one of the most buzzed-about bouts on the card.
Stuck overseas with nothing but a field and a few cows, McIntyre did what any good WWE star would do; he cut a promo. âJelly Roll! You know somebody? You got some connections? You got your 15 minutes of fame right now?â he joked, shouting out his âSummerSlamâ opponent in true hype-man fashion.
The Fans Had A Lot To Say
Fans quickly rallied in the comments; and they were wildly entertained. âWhat are the cows names Drew,â one person asked. Another added, âHey Drew, donât have a… cowniption… youâll get to New Jersey in time to kick Jelly Rollâs ass!â
Someone else called it like it is: âPromo with cows? Itâs a complete Cowtastrophe ð®.â And one fan held out hope for a surprise twist, writing, âNothing better than a solid surprise entrance @DMcIntyreWWE,â while another just declared, âAayyyyooooo This dude is a menace ðððððð.â
No official word yet from the company on how (or if) they’ll resolve McIntyre’s travel issue, but letâs be real⦠if anyone can Claymore-kick his way onto a last-minute flight, itâs Drew. Hereâs hoping he and his bags make it to Jersey in one piece.
Want to watch it all go down? “SummerSlam” streams exclusively on Peacock in the USA (it hits Netflix everywhere else).
