Will this discount convince you to invest in an Xbox? (Microsoft)
Microsoft’s Black Friday deals on select Xbox consoles go live from today and will run until early December.
While Microsoft already began running discounts on Xbox games for Black Friday earlier in the month, we had hoped it would offer price cuts on its gaming hardware too.
Initially, it only seemed to be have discounts on its Xbox consoles in the US, but thankfully that won’t be the case much longer. Starting from tonight at midnight, select Xbox hardware will be on sale here in the UK via Microsoft’s website.
For this year, Microsoft is offering a £40 reduction on select consoles, which will be available until December 2.
First things first, the standard 512GB Xbox Series S will be £209.99 instead of the usual £249.99. This offer also applies to the Xbox Series S Family & Friends bundle, which comes with the console and two controllers instead of one. Typically, this would cost £304.98, but you’ll be able to buy the bundle for £264.98.
At first, we thought the Xbox Series X wasn’t included, but while Microsoft isn’t offering brand new ones at a discount, it has reduced the price of refurbished Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles by £40 as well.
So far, these are the best offers on Xbox consoles we’ve seen, since other retailers have only cut their prices by a few pounds. Although it may be worth checking if anywhere else will copy Microsoft’s example and provide similar reductions as we get closer to Black Friday itself.
For anyone who already has an Xbox Series X, the Mineral Camo console wrap is being discounted at 50% off, while select controllers are 20% off. This includes the Sky Cipher and Ghost Cipher, which usually sell for £64.99.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem Microsoft is offering any discounts on its Game Pass service. Although it would like to remind PC owners that a first time PC Game Pass subscription only costs £1 for the first 14 days.
The last major Xbox release of the year, Indiana Jones And The Great Circle, is coming out on December 9. So, it could be worth subscribing in the coming days, since it means you can experience the game at no extra cost.
You can find links to each Microsoft store listing below, which should be updated to include the discounts once midnight hits.
