xQc is hating on Zelda games again as he tears into Echoes Of Wisdom

After slamming Tears Of The Kingdom last year, Twitch star xQc is left unimpressed as he takes aim at ’empty’ Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom.

It’s fair to say that Twitch and Kick streamer xQc is not a fan of the Zelda games, after he slammed the graphics of 2023’s The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, saying a telephone could do a better job.

While watching this week’s Nintendo Direct reveal of the next instalment in the Zelda franchise, Echoes Of Wisdom, the streamer was again unimpressed with what the legendary publisher has to come up with.

xQc criticised Echoes Of Wisdom for looking ’empty’, and said that he can’t see himself playing through the action adventure game when it comes out later this year.

‘This s*** looks empty as f***. Are you kidding me?’ xQc said on his livestream, as the trailer panned out to reveal the landscape of Hyrule – clearly based on the map for SNES classic A Link To the Past.

He also dug into the ‘style’ of Echoes Of Wisdom, seemingly criticising the look and feel of the game:

‘This style, it doesn’t grow on you. It looks cozy, yeah, but for an entire playthrough… oof,’ he said.

That seems an odd criticism considering xQc has spent considerable time playing Minecraft in his years as a streamer, which has an even more simplistic graphical style.

He did think the new echoes system was ‘cool’, which lets you copy things in the in-game world and magically insert them in front of you, but overall xQc does not look like he will be playing Echoes Of Wisdom when it comes out September 26.

Most fans in his chat, however, seemed to like what they saw, with the wider gaming world appearing to be equally impressed, with a burgeoning art community already embracing the game.

After slamming Tears Of The Kingdom last year, it went on to receive high praise from fans and critics, winning numerous awards, and becoming our game of the year.

He has played the last two games during streams, but if you’re using xQc’s opinions of Zelda games to predict how popular they become, you’d be wise to bet against him.
