Her other most-watched videos included spending $500 at Wish on car accessories and more (2.8 million) and her beloved parrot Archie whispering into a microphone ‘for 5 minutes straight’ to ‘cure your sadness’ (2.6 million).

Alex also had around 122,000 followers on Instagram, while she also had a separate account where she shared her wildlife photography.

Alex went through a divorce in 2023, and had been open about her mental health struggles and the impact of social media trolls in recent years.

Without specifying what she was referring to, she previously wrote: ‘What a difference 5 months makes, when you remove yourself from a situation that was slowly killing you.’

She admitted in the past that she found it tough dealing with ‘hurtful’ remarks on social media, and insisted people should be kinder.

‘I’ll admit it now, I don’t handle criticism well. I’m not cut out to handle reading negative things about myself,’ she wrote in December 2022. ‘I can see a thousand positive comments and forget them all the moment someone says they don’t like me.

‘Ten thousand people can tell me they think I’m beautiful, but if ten people call me ugly, my self-worth goes down the drain. No, I can’t handle it, but that doesn’t mean I can’t continue to have a presence online.

‘People say “you shouldn’t be a YouTuber if you can’t handle negative comments” but how about “YouTubers shouldn’t look at comments, because the things people say can be very hurtful?”‘

Fans have paid tribute to Alex after the news of her death.

‘My heart is in my stomach I’m so saddened by this news praying for her family. I can’t believe this. I loved her so much she was my comfort person to watch,’ wrote one fan.

‘This is devastating. To her family, I am so sorry. Your daughter brought so much joy to millions,’ another fan added, while a third said: ‘Oh my gosh, this is heart breaking. I’ve watched her for years. I’m so sorry to her family. I’ll be spending a lot of time thinking of her.’

And a fourth person commented: ‘I am SO devastated to see this. Been following Alex for many years and she was so genuine and kind. She had a pure heart.

‘RIP Alex- you will very much be missed. Thank you for being so brave and sharing your real life these last several years- you helped others more than you know.’
