A man was in custody after a three vehicle chain reaction crash early Wednesday in Auburn Gresham on the South Side.
Just after 1 a.m., a white SUV ran a red light in the 2000 block of West 79th Street and hit a blue sedan that was in the intersection, Chicago police said.
The sedan then slammed into a black SUV while the white SUV crashed into a building, police said.
Two individuals in the white SUV fled from police, but a 19-year-old man inside the SUV was arrested and taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital with broken ribs, officials said. He was listed in good condition.
No other injuries were reported and charges were pending.
