One person is dead and another is in the hospital after a Sunday morning crash on Interstate 225 in Aurora, police said.
The northbound interstate closed at East Iliff Avenue around 5 a.m. for the crash cleanup and investigation. It was still completely shut down as of 9:45 a.m., according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Aurora police officials said two cars crashed on I-225 near Iliff on Sunday and investigators believe at least one of the cars was speeding.
The first car was carrying a driver and a passenger, police said. One person in the car died in the crash and one was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police said the three people in the second car were not injured.
