1 dead in crash involving pedestrian in Denver’s Hampden neighborhood

At least one person died Saturday night in a crash involving a pedestrian on the edge of Denver’s Hampden neighborhood, police said.

The Denver Police Department first posted about the crash at the intersection of Parker Road and Havana Street on social media at 11:16 p.m. Saturday.

“Officers are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorist and a pedestrian,” police stated.

Police did not confirm if the pedestrian was the person killed in the crash, say how many people were killed or injured or release any information about the events leading up to the crash.

This is the third fatal crash in Denver since Saturday.

A pedestrian on an electric scooter was hit and killed near Coors Field in Denver on Tuesday.

Three days earlier, one person died and another was injured in an early Saturday morning hit-and-run on a northbound Interstate 25 ramp at Speer Boulevard.

Police said Jeffery Alvarez, 29, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident involving death in the Saturday crash.
