A man was arrested after stealing a vehicle with a 7-month-old baby girl inside at a Lawndale gas station on Thursday morning.
A 36-year-old woman was standing near her vehicle at a gas station in the 1200 block of South Independence Boulevard when a man jumped into the drivers seat and drove off around 10:40 a.m., Chicago police said.
A 7-month-old baby girl was in the backseat, police said.
Officers located the vehicle shortly after and placed the man, 38, in custody, police said.
The baby girl was found in good condition and taken to the University of Illinois Chicago Hospital for observation.
